Kareem Hunt: One Pissed Off Runner!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He also beat up his pregnant girlfriend and pushed her down some steps.

That’s probably also learned?

Yes.

Tyreek appears to have violence ingrained in him. I’d be pretty confident he came from a violent home.

I’m not saying btw that beating your pregnant girlfriend up and breaking your kid’s arm is on a level playing field as swatting your kid on the ass in a controlled manner.

These are two very different things and don’t happen in the same environment.

I can read the room. Some of you are taking this personally and nothing I’m going to say is going to get you to let go of spanking, using a belt or in one case a guy said actually being beaten as a punishment. Some people believe in it and make arguments for it that I’m not going to be able to “defeat.”

While I obviously disagree with this for reasons stated, when there’s nothing I can do about an argument all I can do is hope that kids are being taken care of otherwise and that the ones my kid encounters are good kids otherwise.

And inevitably he will raise children thinking that's just how you discipline your kids. Rinse and repeat.

Some kids break the cycle. One of my best friends was physically, sexually, verbally and emotionally abused by parents who were just awful people. Of course...they went through the same things as kids.

My friend is a very successful man and one of the kindest people you could ever know. Alpha type of personality on the surface, but one of the most insecure people you could ever meet because of everything he’s been through.

Truly incredible human being. Genius level high achiever who thinks he’s a complete idiot.

Thanks for bringing us back on track Keys.

Did you see #15 try to tackle Hunt at 0:24? Hunt just abused that guy.

Then at 1:26, poor #7 just got spanked.

But my favorite move was at 3:12 against #45. I think Hunt juked that guy so hard he broke his arm ankles.

I’m triggered by the word abused btw.

Would appreciate if we could stop using it here and in other threads.

OK, I'll add that to the RFC abuse policy---

I see it too--both their jerseys end in 7. :chuckle:

That's about all I see in common between the two. I don't see this comparison at all. Hunt is closer to someone like a Devonta Freeman for me. Both little guys that run with power.

Freeman has better patience--especially in letting a zone blocking scheme set up in front of him. Freeman also has better acceleration.

Hunt has better balance and shiftiness.

Kareem Hunt reminds me of...Kareem Hunt.

He's played 1.5 seasons of NFL football at a really high level. He's not a prospect.

Interesting you pick Freeman, because I see all three as similar backs.

When Shaun Alexander entered the draft, the Browns just came back from hiatus and they clearly needed a running back. Mind you in 2000 running backs still seemed to be valued positions. I was down on Alexander because he didn't really catch the ball, he wasn't really a power back like Jamaal Lewis, and he ran a slow 40 yard dash. I thought he was a productive college runner who wouldn't match the production in the pros. The Browns drafted Travis Prentice in the third round, as memory serves, and I thought he would be about as good since they were similar runners.

Whoa was I wrong. Alexander played faster and stronger than he should have, and as you pointed out with Freeman he had tremendous timing and vision when holes were starting to open up.

Hunt lasted until the third round despite great production because he didn't seem to be big or fast enough for the NFL and his playing style. Then, sure enough, from his first game with the Chiefs he used that staggering balance with great vision and clobbered the NFL.

I see them as similar, along with Freeman.
