Yesterday is the exact reason he's scary- they need his shooting vs GS, and he cant get a shot off. His point production needs replicated by SOMEONE against GS.
1 for 3, three points in over 20 mins.
I love Korver and think he is a great regular season player. You need guys that can make a living in the reg season.
This is is JR would be helpful, but he's a tremendous disappointment IMO.

You are missing the amount of effort it takes to keep him from shooting. When they are shutting down Korver, who only takes a fraction of an inch to get a shot off, someone else should be open.

Korver is one of those guys who helps your offense immensely for just being out there That was not on him.

Yep and there were opportunities, but Frye wasn't in there to take those shots. Green and Wade and TT were

I'm not blaming him. GS is one of the best teams in the league defending the 3 pointer. This year #8, last #1.
I'm saying is he is ineffective against GS, but they certainly need to replace his regular production. If he scores his season average they win yesterday...

Cavatt hit the nail on the head. Years past Frye was not playable because of his defense. This year we miss his offense next to Korver in our backup bunch and his defense has been almost as good as TT's defense this year. That is not to say TT wasnt a better defender 2 years ago, but its amazing how much TT's defense has slipped compared to anyone else on the team.

TT just appears odd man out in all aspects.

Just not sure he's playable against the Warriors...

I mean we have to because our 2nd unit needs the spacing. However, they lock him up like we did when he was in Atlanta.

I don't think he is playable either. His defense doesn't help the situation either. That's why I think SG is the biggest need for this team. If we need to add Korver into a trade, I wouldn't hesitate to do it.

I love Korver, but yea Griff should have really targeted PJ Tucker instead.

Yea PJ Tucker would have been a good target last year. This year though, I'd target a two way combo guard over a big wing. I think Crowder and Green hold down those roles. Rose is still a question mark, JR isn't himself, and we still need someone to guard PGs. Using JR and Shump as wing defenders might actually help both of them.

I thought Korver did a better job on Klay than JR but that’s not not saying much. Korver also generated a ton of looks and didn’t force up bad shots but guys on the floor struggled to take advantage of open looks.

Tha scoreless stretch in 9-10 possessions lost us the game and Korver wasn’t in the game to help us generate better looks.

Might be nice if he had another floor spacer out there with him. I don't know, somebody like a Channing Frye...

Oh wait, we do, but our spineless eunuch of a "coach" won't play the guy...because defense, right?

TT screening for Korver is a dead play. Should never happen.

Lets be honest. Frye has been bad against the Warriors the last few years. They stick to Frye and then force him to the rim doubting he can finish.

If we're going to bring up other options as a backup big it should be Zizic.

Those sets to get Korver open looks have always been easily snuffed out by elite defenses. All it takes is basic communication between the primary defender and the screener's defender. Especially when the shooter can't abuse the mismatch . Same way we coped when it was run for Curry in 2015 and 2016 finals and even Korver in 2015 when he was with the Hawks. You need 2016 bogut level illegal screens for them to be effective against everyone

Time to start using it as a decoy action. It's not quite the homerun play Lue thinks it is

Right? Maybe just let Korver run around without any screens, making his defender chase him all over the court taking at least one of the Warriors good defenders out of the picture.

TT setting the screen just allows GS to trap Korver.

TT is a liability but they still defend Korver well when TT is out. TT just kills off the already slim chance of that play being a success. We wouldn't even have minded if they trapped him so we could get 4v3 action but the most they are willing to compromise their defense for Korver is a soft hedge or a switch. And that's on the odd occasion when he's actually gotten free of his primary defender, no thanks to the soft ass screens we set.
