Lets be honest. Frye has been bad against the Warriors the last few years.
Based off what, the 5 total minutes he's gotten?

Lue is afraid to make the Warriors compensate for his dead-eye shooting, so he instead plays into their hands by refusing to play the guy. If the cliche that Korver's gravity as a shooter is enough to keep him on the floor, then the same holds true for Frye.

Unless you're like Lue and delusional about our defense, there is no reason to not play the guy because if Frye is unplayable then Korver has quickly proven that he is too.

The backup unit needed the spacing frye provides. I get he cant defend, but if Steph or Durant is off the floor, we should be able to find someone for Frye to defend like draymond. Its not ideal, but either is the lack of spacing TT gives us. Game keeps changing and TT is becoming less playable against elite teams than Frye at this point.

Its not like GS was playing great defense, just a bit more offense and we could have won this game. Frye is that offense. Its why Korver couldnt get anything off.

He can keep up with David West, he just can't guard Draymond.

I think West and his bully ball might be a bit more difficult.

Draymond does allot well, but with his lack of 3 point shooting, I feel Frye can dare him to shoot so Draymond doesnt blow by Frye and Frye's length will work well enough.

Toughest part about Draymond offensively is his incredible passing skills. I am starting to believe it is more important to out offense GS instead of out defense them. Get the turnovers and run a more efficient offense and you can beet GS.

Dont you think youre overlooking something in this equation? Draymond is one of the best PnR roll men in the nba. Whoever guards him will be dragged into the Curry or Durant pick and roll. Putting someone on Draymond is like giving them one of the toughest defensive assignments.

Infact GS's entire dynasty took off in 2015 when they figured they could abuse slow footed bigs guarding Dray through the Curry-Dray PnR.

Yea exactly, which is why the Cavs best defensive stretches against the Warriors dating back to the 2016 Finals have been when LeBron was guarding Draymond. Hopefully this year with Crowder and Green on board, LeBron can go back to guarding Draymond when it really counts instead of Durant.

West is not a major threat anymore, and Channing is actually good at using his length on bigger guys than he is on quick dudes IMO. Make West Guard you on eth preimeter and deal with Korver-Frye screens. It will mess west up I think.

Frye is totally playable against them as long as west is in the game. Just do it LUE!

REally 3 point shooting was so conspicuously absent during this last stretch.

If your guys can't give full effort the whole game, you gotta play more guys. i really don't even think it is an option against GS. They play so fast, you have to get Lebron and Wade some rest for the 4th.

that means you have to generate some offense with Green and 3 pt shooters. That means your best 3 pt shooters have to play.

One of the reasons why i said you cant put him in the game with Curry and Durant.

Just too much for Frye to overcome, but he has done much better on the pick and roll when played and Love has showed he can defend against GS.

After killing Atlanta he looked old and slow tonight compared to the new guys. Hopefully they learn to set him up. Not sure I want to see him for more than 10-15 minutes a game unless he is on fire.

i thought he was helping the new guns. he still had flash ( like the three off the screen) but he seemed more coach on the floor today than Atlanta. When the game is on the line he can still take the three. We have line ups that should scare the crap out of most teams. Hill ,Hood, Korver, James, Love for example means a three from anyone any time. Not that we would use that as the default, just that against some lines ups, it would be pure artillary...

Once they work out the action it will be beautiful. You can't guard Clarkson, hood, and Korver all at once. Add Green and Nance as rollers/slasher and you have a real situation on your hands.

Korver was slightly discombobulated yesterday, but he played a great game. Had some crucial rebounds and passes. He's also old and mentioned how high his minutes were in atlanta. He could have still been tired. Keeping him rested and ready to fire will be great.

I genuinely believe Korver is one of the guys that will benefit the most from our new acquisitions. We have more speed and offensive threats that SHOULD free up some more opportunities for him... not to mention our pick and roll game is much improved which tends to free up outside shooters.

Anxious to see how Korver plays tonight in what (should) be a revenge game for us.

For me I think the most important part of having korver on the team is helping guys with their shots.

Especially with all the young guys coming in if they are learning from korver that is gonna pay off for years.

Imagine if Nance works with korver and develops a three point shot?
