Nah.. I'm feeling magnanimous today.. Christ-like even... :chuckle:

p.s.
If we weren't playing GSW tonight, yea, I'd be goin in on a mofo.. But I'm trying to rack up points with God this afternoon...

Then, you need to go on a mission. Be sure to bring your brother Elmwood. ;)

"We're on a mission from Gad." :chuckle:
Man I had a blast when I met Dan Aykroyd. I can intone that line almost perfectly but for some reason it escaped me when I went to shake his hand. I DID however ask him "What's a dick for?" and got him to do a bit of Uncle Roman :chuckle:

My signed DVDs of The Blues Brothers, Spies Like Us and The Great Outdoors are certified gold to me.

One of my all time favorite comedians... Love the guy.

It would be great if RCF could curb the infighting and needling right before a big game like this one. Of all days, this is a time to feel the community, win or lose.

I'm currently in Oakland, just talked with a young man from San Diego wearing a LeBron James jersey and socks. He approached my family because we were in a toy store and wanted to show my son a toy. It became clear after some back and forth that he was a little delayed. His dad is an Oakland guy, dressed in his Golden State gear, and took his son to see his hero today.

Heartwarming stuff on a tense day. Go Cavs!

Could you imagine the look on Klay and Steph's face if Korver comes in and just drills like 4-5 3-pointers over the top of them tonight?

That would be so, so sweet.

Cavs and Korver aren't on the same page. You see glimpses of what could be there but often the Cavs lose him when he's open then when looking for him on his backdoor don't realize you can swing the ball to the opposite side and get an advantage. Korver meanwhile seems surprised when he's open: I knows he's known for his quick release but he seems like he's rushing his shot way too much.

Also you can't run sets with him, Love, and Frye out there: no way that works defensively against the Warriors

Mentioned this in the game thread but we need to stop wasting so many possessions every game running plays specifically for Korver. He's a damn role player coming off the bench. Kind of reminds me of the Cavs force feeding plays to Shaq in 2010. STOP!! These guys aren't worth running more than one or maybe two plays for. Just play the damn game and they will get their looks.

We should not change our offense for Kyle Korver. Not at all. It's silly what we're doing with him right now.

Disagree 100%. We aren't trying to win a regular season paper championship. We are trying to get guys initiated into our system for the playoffs.

I LOVE that Lue is working to fit Korver into Ray Allen type plays from Celtics days. This will be a HUGE addition once we've practiced it enough. But guess what? It's going to be forced and unnatural at first. This is how learning works. Trust the process.

If we force feed 10+ plays to Korver every game we aren't winning any kind of Championship. If we do this when it matters we are going to lose, that I can promise you.

I'll buy that it's good practice for now but this can't be a sign of things to come. Not at this volume.

Again, wrong. People kept complaining about this with Love. And guess what?! Love finally fits and looks natural. How did that happen? By continuing to force feed him until he felt comfortable.

The only way that it eventually becomes "natural" is by forcing it at first, and learning to build new habits with a new player.

Trust the process. These regular season games don't mean jack shit.

Korver's workrate is amazing IMO. His ability to get people to chase him through off ball screens and make shots like one step past the screen turning his shoulders towards the rim are going to be huge for us. We have a team of shit screen setters because our 3s rely on drawing attention and passing to the open man (or in LeBron and Kyrie's case, dribble pull up 3s). I'm super excited to see what he can do with some more time around the team and real plays drawn up for him.

No. Love is an All-NBA player. Kyle Korver is a role player. Trying to compare them is wrong.

Again, I don't give a shit about these regular season games. I've made that stance clear in various threads.

If you think we're winning anything running 10+ plays a game in The Finals for Korver you're kidding yourself. This isn't perennial All-Star Ray Allen, or Kevin Love. This is a role player. A 35 year old one at that. You don't waste so many possessions revolving your offense around a role player unless you want to lose. Period.

I mean, I still disagree 100%. I'm not going to dispute some arbitrary number like +/- 10 plays for Korver.

But do I think we should run plays for one of the best shooters in the league in the finals? Yes--assuming he is integrated and fits with our rotations by the time the playoffs arrive. How many? Fuck, I don't know. I bet if Lue were asked, he'd say it would be a game to game decision.
