Goodbye Larry Nance Jr.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Everyone is a fraction of the player his dad was, Jr happens to be 1/3 and I happen to be 1/100,000,000

But we all are a fraction, lol

That applies to Seth Curry but not Steph Curry.

Still pissed we protected Mike Sanders instead of Dell.

Is it me or does anybody get the vibe that Nance doesn't like or has an issue with Collin Sexton reminiscent of the cold relationship between Collin and JR. Zero chemistry. Not sure I'm getting Nance thinking he's way better than he is constantly asking for the ball instead of rolling to the basket. He won't roll for the lob or pop for the shot and is playing a 2014 style of Joakim Noah only nowhere near as impactful. Maybe I'm overreacting but it's an observation I've made.

Not sure he has much patience with Younger players. Saw him screaming at Cedi for a missed coverage last night. I have seen Collin pounding his back when Nance does something awesome. Seems like Nance waits and lets Collin go by on the Dribble hand off a lot in order to give it to JC

I can see that coming natural to him since they've known each other but he has to be smart enough to know it's a process and Collin/Cedi are a big part of it while Clarkson is just dribbling out the clock until he's traded next season.

1. I only meant comparing the father-son dynamic for a particular player (in Nance Jr.'s case). Kinda the opposite for some other guys, like superstars Dell Curry and Jelly Bean Bryant :abnormal: (yeah, I'm milking it for all it's worth, so shoot me).

2. I think Junior sees the difference in quality compared to last year's Cavs team. There's like a huge lack of trust in teammates. Sexton clearly had a cut to the hoop in the first half and was obviously open. Nance tried to get it to Clarkson on the three-point elbow and committed a stupid foul.

3. He's trying to do too much at this point. A lot of these players lack something, but Nance needs to look in the mirror before anyone else. Maybe he'll figure something out?

Nance single handlely slows down the offense so much. I'm questioning what place he has on the team going forward. The coaching staff will have to change so much of the way he plays to make him more useful. I think he is the player they did the poorest job of molding this season.

I thought at the beginning of the season that if he added a 3 point shot, he would be real useful. The coaching staff allowed him to build a whole boat load of bad habits.

Not sure Koby giving Nance the extension last summer was a good idea. It's not the money or if he will be worth the contract Koby gave. Its how he would have approached this season aiming for his next contract.

I think he would have been driven to become a stretch 4 or 5 with potential to be a starter. That's not what we got from Nance this year. I don't think anyone would have paid him for the increase in assists. His other numbers didn't even take a proportional jump to his increase in minutes.

And for a dunk contest guy, he doesn't show many oh & ah moments in that regard. Seen better from Jeff Green last year.

The better 3 point shot is cool. I think he can be decent there.

He needs to finish around the rim. He misses a lot of bunnies.

I still think he is best suited as attached 6th man type

Nance getting irritated on teamates not named Jordan equals Dion Waiters shouting "Aye and 1" during layups....

His 3 point percentage is nice for his first year adding a 3 point shot to his game. He has been putting up more attempts in the last 20 games. I don't think teams think he is any sort of threat from 3 and his shot chart seems to tell the reason why. While he has taken attempts from all over the arc, he really only has one spot that he is above average and comfortable at. That spot is slightly left of the top of the arc. He needs to add more spots in the off-season.

I agree he also needs to build up his inside game. I'm not sure how healthy he can stay being a high flying dunker.

I was hoping for more progress from Nance this season. The bad habits just seem to over take the good things he has added. I do think a good HC will help him progress his game and if we move Clarkson, it will only force him to build up his game and help his teammates.
