Welcome Marquese Chriss

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Can definitely see the Drew Gooden comparisons- he's a Drew who can hit 3s. Has as much feel for basketball as a kumquat. I'm a little more helpful he can at least be useful, byt im not holding my breath. I get the feeling he is being showcased a little. He's hustled more so far than I saw in Pho, so that's positive. I think best case scenario is he becomes a trade chip of sorts; he doesnt appear to have any feel for rebounding but feel free to correct me on that one. Hopefully Larry doesnt bury Zizic just because of this guy.
I think he is hitting about 30% of his 3s

He isn't traditionally a good rebounder, except on the offensive end, which is rare sorta like TT when he was young. I gotta think you can get defensive rebounds like TT eventually did if you can get the offensive ones. Still he had 7 in the past 2 games where he played around 25 min that is basically 9 per 36. That's not elite or anything, but for a guy who can hit the 3 it would be pretty good. He would have to keep that up cause it is more than his career rebounding

It was his poor reach that brought down Tyson. Uh Oh
IMO, Tyson was brought down when he lost his original trainer and hooked up with don king. As Tyson didn't even train for the Buster Douglas fight.
The crazy thing about Zion is his body is still developing

Think kobi did a good job getting the pick and Chriss and knight. Not as high on knight but Chriss is intriguing

I think the opposite thinking Knight is good when healthy and might turn into another 1st round DP next year if he gets the playing time. Chriss I still have major questions and keep in mind his recent scoring is very small sample size. If he reverts to his past history he isn't a guy I'd want taking major minutes on a rebuilding team. He'd be more of a guy I'd like them to have in the G League to see if he just needs more heavy development time playing 30 minutes a night.

I think Altman has done great both last year and this year getting value and picks in trades. There's a handful of guys now that depending on their playing time and performance, will be on expirings next year and could turn into more good trade scenarios.

Oh yeah for sure. I was just commenting on the fact he couldn't get close enough to Buster to get him with his hooks and lightning jabs. I love watching that fight it is amazing, and weirdly like the only great fight Douglas ever had. Tyson's team tried to take swelling down with a rubber glove and cold water. They weren't prepared for him to even be hit!

Losing his mentor for Tyson was like losing his anchor. He had no one to ground him. He was spiraled immediately and just had no tools do deal with any of the trouble that came his way.

Waaaay off topic, but I believe the same thing happened to Tiger Woods when his father died. He toed the line when dad was watching.

I'm afraid my love affair with Chriss has come to an end. It was nice while it lasted, but way too brief. Oh well, next!

He definitely has come down to earth. I doubt we have much competition to resign him if keeps playing like this. I question if the front office will even want to keep him over trying to go after a wing in free agency.

Also with how Clarkson dominates the ball, it's hard to develop anyone off the bench.

This is the Marquese Chriss that unfortunately many other teams in the league have seen. It just took him awhile to show us who he really is.

Thanks for the week or so of hope, though!

he has terrible hands, just awful. Can't catch or even hold the ball on a drive

I'm not complete sure how much money we have left until we hit the luxury tax but Koby needs to start calculating that. I'm starting to think Chriss's roster spot would be better spent to go give a G-leaguer a pair of 10 day contracts.

I think it is getting to the point that even if he plays better, it will just seem like fools gold.

His 3pt shot was keeping him in consideration there for awhile. It was really good. I guess it was just a fluke.

He and Stauskas have exactly the same issue. Super hot and cold with mostly cold. Flashing athleticism that is impressive.

Stauskas has a really similar profile to Cedi, but can't really do anything with that.

Chriss has the best athleticism on the team, but he can't use it in a good way. Very frustrating. If it was his first year, I would be wary of giving up on him, but we are the 4th team he can't appear to do anything on. I could buy him being a good player some day, but it will probably be a result of this team cutting him. Too bad.

There's just about enough money to buy a decent new car. It's really tight. We won't see any more roster changes this season barring something really weird.
