Welcome Marquese Chriss

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
His offense has been shockingly better then I expected. Dude has shown a decent stroke. Needs to improve on defense but he may he a keeper as a nice stretch big off the bench depending on what other moves we make this off season.

Pretty much everyone on the Cavs has to get better on D, so he's not alone. Defense is just broken in Cleveland and has no hope of getting fixed until a new coaching staff comes in. Longabardi is probably the worst defensive coordinator in the history of Cleveland - and the Browns have had some pretty terrible ones.

Chriss needs to work on defense and his post moves. With the right work ethic and coaching, he has the potential to play good defense on the perimeter and in the post. He could bulk up a bit so he can be more effective in the paint, but needs to do so in a way that will not sap his speed and agility.

You can see when you watch him how much talent there is. Two different coaches in Phoenix and then a situation in Houston where he was never going to get PT or much coaching because Houston in in win now mode - they don't want to develop someone.

He's not 25, he's 21. Hope for him to grow and become a solid rotational piece at least, possibly more, is not a crazy thought.

It all boils down to getting him on a team friendly deal and finding the right coach who can put together a staff that can create a strong culture that values teamwork, defense, proper execution, etc while also encouraging players to grow. There are guys that can do that. The Cavs need to go all out to find them and then make sure they get the right players in trades, free agency, and the draft that can fit that concept.

And if they learn from Chriss that he cannot - that the attitude is a problem or work ethic is an issue then they walk. But if they see someone willing to be taught, willing to work, and willing to accept responsibility for his own success and failures then you keep him and work with him so he can grow.

I hope the Cavs keep him. He reminds me of TT sometimes, with better offensive moves and a legit outside shot

The way he is able to catch lobs from Delly reminds me of TT. For some reason Nance and Delly haven't connected like most expected them too. He has that explosiveness that TT seems to have lost over the years.

A Kardashian can suck the explosiveness out of any dude.

Glad he is proving me wrong. He still doesn't move his feet well and will let a guy go right by him. He looked a lot more engaged this game and had some great moments. If he can put it together great.

It is a very switchable lineup with he and Nance . A shooting 4/5 is pretty nice to have.

Can't set much of a screen and his body is Narrow. Seems to loaf at times but he is shooting it great and has a compact release like a guard .

Hard not to be hopeful for him after a night like this and he had scored consistently.

I actually really like the Chriss/Nance frontcourt. Two lob threats is pretty fun to watch.

As long as neither of them try to post up.

Think kobi did a good job getting the pick and Chriss and knight. Not as high on knight but Chriss is intriguing

Getting Knight is good. Got him cheap, can fatten him up for the 2020 trade deadline just like we did with Burks this year. If he plays extremely well (unlikely) we could just keep him too.

You definitely don't have the upside hope with Knight, but he is playing smart and as a team guy, hitting his shots. He could fetch something if he isn't just horrible.

I thought it was a good time to repost this. The front office picked up Chriss, Knight, Stauskas, and I believe 2 first round picks, and 6 second round picks, In addition, They got rid of Rodney Hood, who I honestly believe had mental problems. I'm amazed, no idea how they did it?

The second season after an ACL injury is usually where a player has a chance to get back to being anywhere near their former self.

The negative is that Knight has an injury history.

The positive is that he has a stretch where he scored about 17-20ppg on average with 5 assists. I don't hold out for the long term upside or think that Knight is an option for the Cavs future, but his history gives him value next year on an ending contract for a team hoping for some help as long as he can show some semblance of his past. He doesn't have to get back to that completely, just show something. He can have value in a year.

I think we've got some guys that may have value before next season. Love may, depending on how he plays for the rest of the year. A lot of teams will strike out on free agents and Love could be a consolation prize. Tristan may depending on how he closes out the season. And Clarkson despite his black hole on D issues, etc. Two of them ending contracts. Lots of teams with cap space. Some proven production. With Clarkson there is hope that his defense can revert to being just below average instead of atrocious - he's played it that way before. But that spark off the bench on a one year deal may be attractive.

And with how Koby has managed the trades so far this year, I think he can do a good job getting assets for guys like that and possibly other ending deals like Henson, Knight, and possibly Delly.

I think staukas is just filler but knight and chrisse are viable players. A solid coach might light a fire under chrisse. Kid has talent
Knight is ok and along with his contract could fetch an asset or two next year
Two first round picks this year. 6 second round picks over next few years. The other first round pick in two years
And you still got guys like Clarkson tt Henson delly you can move next deadline to a contender. And there is still love. Nice job kobi

If I'm being honest I would have traded Hood and Burks for Knight and Chriss just from watchability standpoint lol
