What can I do about my loud neighbors

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Dave, go over their head. Call the local corporate office. A lot.

This has worked for us. The last think corporate types want is being bugged by irate tenants.

Have all the others that are pissed do the same. Do it in shifts.

Shit will happen.

This 100%.

Generally any time somebody goes over somebody’s head it is infuriating to the person who’s head is gone over but it works.

Is this a large corporate property management company or just some landlord? If a large corporate company, like say Camden...call corp office. If some goofball landlord...keep going into the office and making inconvenient.

And as has been mentioned, have everyone do this same thing.

This will eventually work absolutely.

It's not a large corporation

And the only ones complaining are the ones adjacent to them and that don't also party with them. So. Me and one other person

So everytime you get woken up, call their office and leave a voicemail. Then say you will be in to talk to them later that day. Making it something they dread from the moment they get into the office.

"I was up until 12 banging on the ceiling again last night. I was late for work this morning because I slept through the alarm. Whatever is being said isn't connecting and this doesn't look like this is going to work out.

I've contacted Catalina pacific at least 6 times in the last two months over this ongoing issue and there is an ostensible lack of progress. I'm writing every time it happens now for posterity and if it happens again Im going to escalate action and I will need to discuss withholding rent/termination of lease. I'm done dealing with this. I haven't slept well in two months.

This needs to stop. Now. "

Do you have a friend or family member that is a lawyer? My friends that are lawyers always seem willing to write a letter to try to fix situations like this. They are the ones who seem to offer to do it too.

A letter from a lawyer on official letter head and in a very lawyer writing style will get action fairly quickly. They just have to say that you, their client, has complained and this is a official warning that if no action is taken, you will be taking legal action against them. They are unlikely to call your bluff with a lawyer already on your side. They don't want to have to pay their lawyer for something they can fix.

My brother is a lawyer and its amazing what a simple well worded message on a law firms letter head will do for you. You can also call around and see if a lawyer will write a letter for you for cheap. The letter will go a long way to getting you out of the lease.

How much do I have to pay him

What state are you in? He would only send it for you if you were in Ohio and I have no idea what his rates are, I get the only sibling free discount. Probably only used it 3 times I can remember in my life, but it worked 2 of the 3 times.

He sends for me because we are brothers and there are different laws when you are licensed in one state but immediate family lives in another state. He represented me in a case once (20 years ago) in Indiana with permission from the judge. He came the night before, prepared for the case, won the case the next day and got hammered that night. Fun stuff, lol

Ask around, small law offices, say you only need a letter, typically can only get one cheap if you know someone, it has been a huge benefit having a brother who is an attorney over the years. I have had 3 things he handled for me for free, 2 of which I would have never gotten an attorney for.

Are you sure no friend of a friend is an attorney?

Popped back with "everything I said in that email stands. Next incident I'm withholding rent or terminating lease"

Just ran into management. I was ready to chew her head off but she listened and I think believes me. Courtesy patrol fucked their job up and didn't actually check in with me or upstairs the other night. I gave a better explanation w nuance of what's happening. I know they want more proof but I'm sticking by what I said, they've been warned.

They're writing them a second violation

Still waiting to hear from attorney

I fucked Up and broke down their door.
