What quick rebuild would you sell to LeBron?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Trade 1 w/Clippers
#8 pick / Korver - Picks 12 & 13 / Patrick Beverly
Trade 2 w/Portland
#13 pick Love/Hill - McCollum/Harkless/Aminu #24 pick
Trade 3 w/OKC
Pick #12 - Paul George
Sign Dewayne Dedmon – FA

Beverly/Clarkson
McCollum/Hood/JR
George/Cedi/Harkless
Lebron/Aminu/White
Dedmon/Nance/Zizic/TT

And we have the 24th pick in the draft from Portland
This would be pretty awesome. Having a nut job like Beverly on this club has always been something we've badly needed. He's a dog and could almost completely change our identity on D if dumbass would finally play Z . .

First PG13 would have to opt in and tell okc he wants to play w LeBron.

Then we send OKC Love for PG13. Easy sell to their fans, didnt lose George for nothing and reunite Love and Russ.

Second, I offer JR, Hill & the 8th pick for Batum & Kemba.

Charlotte gets off of Batum’s money. JR & Hill expire, they get 8th pick for Kemba.

New big 3 is Kemba, Bron, PG13

There is now a post on Reddit NBA pointing out that this scenario completely violates the CBA. We need to be below the tax apron all year to do a sign and trade, and that will be almost impossible to do while taking on Batum, Walker, PG III.

Sorry, I don't like it either.

Agree, I love the attitude that Beverly would bring. Would be a good influence on some of the younger players also.

Sign and trade for PG13 means we have to stay under the apron. If it's a opt in and trade then we don't have to stay under the apron.

I think the apron will be around ~129 million next year.

I also believe that the NBA will make up some new rule if we opt in and trade for PG13. Just like the buy out rule about players can't come back to their original team after being traded. Z was the last one to do that, I expect the league owners to gang up if we get PG13 from an opt in and trade.

FWIW bro, Reddit is wrong (and often is)...

If the Cavs send out $8M more in salary than they currently have on the books, they'll be below the apron. So for PG13 in an S&T, Cavs could send Love+Korver or Hill+Smith+Cedi as an example.

For Batum and Kemba, Cavs could send out ~$46M in salary so Hill+Smith+Clarkson makes a great deal of sense in a trade like that.

So if you sent out Love, Korver, Hill, Smith, and Clarkson while taking back George, Kemba, and Batum you're roughly -$11.5M in salary, and definitely below the apron.

You can then open up an addition $14M in cap space by stretch waiving Batum, to go -$25.5M.

So for the exact numbers, if the Cavs did the outlined trade here, they'd end up at $126.38M in salary, and with roster holds they'd be at ~$128.5M or effectively $500k short of the apron -- and that's before waiving Batum.

If they waive Batum, they'd be at $113.08M, which is $15.9M short of the apron, and well below the tax line. Cavs could use the MLE and still be below the tax.

Love + Korver would be a great fit for OKC; Love + Adams would be a terrific, well-fitting front court (I salivated at the idea of getting Adams here these past few years and would have parted with the BKN pick without question to make it happen) while Korver (as well as Love) provides them with the outside shooting that they desperately need around Westbrook.

It just seems too good to be true to happen, but that'd be a healthy trade for both teams.

Yep... OKC is making out like fucking bandits in this trade...

It's actual robbery to be able to trade a player leaving in free agency for an All-Star under contract who happens to be the franchise player's BFF and fits perfectly on your roster, as well as a 3pt marksman who can still play for a few years...

To me, this is the maximal offer the Cavs should be willing to present to the Thunder; but I hope we can get George for less.. We have room to operate since I don't expect Batum to actually play a single minute in a Cavs uniform if we were to take back his contract.

I wanted Beverley so bad in the offseason, but there was no way.

But I really want that OKC trade. With Lord NyQuil on the Cavs that at least takes care of one major issue. If the Cavs get Kemba/Batum that takes care of two others. Even with that Poo Poo contract. Charlotte wants out of it. Hopefully enough that they take the 3 Guards of Doom (two of which will be expiring soon).

Yeah, and that would be bullshit, but it's what they get for allowing the Durant situation to happen.

Too much for Batum and Kemba...your taking the worst contract in the league,,,no way I'm sending the 8th pick for that...now if we could swap down with maybe the Clippers for 12 and 13 I might be inclined to send them 13 I would have to think about that. I'll tell ya I would swap picks with them. Give them 8 and we take back 11. That I would do.
That would be awesome! Do you think we can land D.J in a trade were we swap picks with the clippers?

Cleveland gets D.J 12 and 13 clippers get 8 T.T korver Clarkson
We then trade love for P.G
After that we package 13 and j.r for a deal to get kemba
With the 12th pick draft sexton or Mikael bridges

Kemba/sexton
P.G/hood or bridges
Lebron/cedi
Vet green again?/nance

Jordan/zizic/nance
