What's next? (Post-Kyrie trade moves / transactions)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
No matter what we need to have more players going out than we have coming in. How that takes place is open to debate. Felder and Tavares can be converted to 2 way contracts. Beyond that I have no idea how we're going to get this done.

Maybe RJ is ready to retire? Move Osman and Frye to Spurs for Danny Green? Shump and Felder for Delly?

Any move that sends out Shump and brings back Delly would be welcome, I wonder if the Bucks would consider and what exactly would work for them?

Maybe we have to throw in a pick (2nd rounder)? But its not like Delly lit it up for them so I'm sure they wouldn't mind moving his overpaid contract which is longer than Shump's if I understand correctly. Felder is just toss in to clear roster spots for us. "He's still young", thats about all we can pitch them on for him.

Delly fits here with us. He has chemistry with TT, Love, and Lebron. He plays scrappy D and we've seen him frustrate Curry. He would allow us to play Rose sparingly during the regular season. I would love to get him back, even if he is a bit overpaid for what he is.

Hopefully Delly got his shitty "just got paid" season behind him and he would be ready to get back to being his scrappy, bothersome self.

Shump is on a 1 year deal with the 2nd year as a PO. It's almost a forgone conclusion he will opt out. Most players opt out of 10M deals. So they could do it as just a salary dump to get off of dellys long term deal.

Will Shump really do that? I mean, I agree that is what we can sell them on, but is Shump really delusional enough about his own value that he thinks he can get more than that? :chuckle:

I feel like we have two major holes

We need another PG or playmaking wing due to the injury risk with IT and Rose, preferably one who can defend and shoot the deep ball.

Second I think we need more bigs/rim protection unless Zizic is NBA ready. Not a fan of trotting out TT at the 5 all season and we don't have much at all behind him.
Avery Bradley would be a great fit, he meets all the criteria in your first sentence. If we could nab him without giving up major assets that's the move that needs to be made....maybe at the deadline they will be willing to dump him for our first/Osman and or Zizic.

He could get more over the long term. I can see someone giving him 3 for 20. But players typically opt out unless they're hurt or have a huge salary that they know they can't recoup. I doubt he will risk opting in and getting hurt.

Like it or not, we are most likely gonna need to use players like Zizic or Osman to move our unwanted contracts. Let's face it... neither of those 2 are ever gonna get significant minutes on this team. I understand that a lot of Cavs fans want to give them a chance to play here and see if they grow, but this is about competing for a championship now, not waiting and hoping for 2 or 3 years down the line. We have too many holes to fill, and you gotta do what you gotta do to fill them. We need 3 open roster spots to fill our needs (Wade?, Bogut?, Tony Allen?) and we need to get this done soon, before the season. We currently have 17 players under contract. 5 need to go. I understand that the trade deadline is when the bigger deals "might" happen, but what if nothing happens and no big names or all-stars become available? We need to be ready when we start the season. I think Jefferson either gets dealt now or retires, and the Cavs need to decide if they are keeping Tavares and Felder or cutting them. Frye and Shumpert are the 2 bad contracts that are probably gonna cost us assets to deal. Frye fell out of Lue's rotation completely, as did Shumpert due to not playing up to par. Maybe we get lucky and get to keep Zizic or Osman somehow, but Frye and Shumpert are not gonna be easy to move, especially Shumpert.

Keep Frye. Attach the BK 2018 pick to Shumpert/Osman and dump for best trade available (Cousins/Porzingis would be my ideal scenario).

Sign Wade.

Keep on eye on Melo.

Why are we dumping OSman so fast? he is on any trade scenario I have seen.. holy shit the guy can't catch a break.
Let's see how he plays for starters.

What about this:
  • Frye + Shump +Cedi + 1st 2018 (CAVS) for Dieng
