What's next? (Post-Kyrie trade moves / transactions)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
WHo doesn't do it:
Melo to Cavs
Cavs #1 pick (own), Shump, Frye, RJ, Kay and Travers to Knicks.

Cash works, Knicks save face on getting a pick back and shed contact ($3 mill this year, $13 mill by next year). Melo really going to block a 1 year chance at a title? Cavs could make case to James that Melo, Love and him with Brooklyn pick and Crowder etc. are his best shot at a title for at least another season.. Kind of a devotion to small ball thats troublesome, and eggs are in the Derrick Rose PG basket (yikes) but you can match the wings of GS come finals time and you didn't give up much of anything for Melo.

Terrence Jones recently had a 48pt & 20reb game in China. He'll be available to be picked up a little bit after the All-Star break, since the Chinese regular season is ending around that time.

The regular season ends on Sunday, February 11, 2018, and the playoffs begin on Saturday, March 3, 2018.

Serious question [and maybe a pipe-dream]: if this thing in OKC doesn't work out and PG doesn't look comfortable mid-season, do we offer OKC a trade with the Brooklyn pick involved?

Of course!

Of course!

I mean I don't think it will happen, but if they did a deal based on around Love, they could move Melo to his natural SF position, Love at his natural PF position and an eraser in the middle with Adams.

But I think A: They'll get things straightened out in time and B: with Russ signed long term they feel confident they can re-sign PG13 regardless of if they don't even reach the conference finals as long as everyones personalities are meshing.

Also, they may feel that because of the tighter cap, if PG13 walked, his new team may actually prefer or need to do a S&T rather than sign him outright with space.

I'd trade George for Love, but not for the Brooklyn pick. George is struggling as a 2nd-3rd wheel right now and he doesn't impact the game like you would expect a star-superstar.

Starting to wonder what the Bulls will do about to Portis/Mirotic situation. Portis is already back and had a great first game. Mirotic is still out. Can't be a good situation in the locker room and practice courts.

Wondering about something like a TT/Shump/Cavs 1st(top22 protected) or TT/Frye/Cavs #1(top22 protected) for Lopez/Mirotic

Thoughts?

I like the idea of targeting Lopez and discarding our junk but I hate that bearded fuck Mirotic, plus he's redundant on a team that already has two (better) floor-spacing PFs in Love and Frye.

I though this about Frye and Mirotic too. Is Frye really his equal? On per36, Mirotic comes out ahead on rebounds, blocks, and steals.

My other though is that it's only by taking on Mirotic and sending back a 1st that we're able to get Lopez.

I'm not sure the Bulls would do TT/our 2018 1st for Lopez straight up.

So to you point on redundancy, from the Cavs perspective, the TT/Frye/2018 Cavs 1st for Lopez/Mirotic would be better than sending them Shump instead of Frye.

Nothing I'm super excited about just spitballing ideas.
