Which way would you say they’re trending???

Joe Flacco??? Andy Dalton???

Lamar Jackson is their savior? Come on....
The Eagles just won the Superbowl with Nick Foles.

The Vikings nearly made it with Case Keenum.

Until the Browns start drafting correctly, teams are going to beat up on them even with backup QB's at the helm. AFC opponents included.

Yeah, except the difference is we have added PROVEN talent this year.

A guy at QB who has already lead a team to the playoffs and the best slot receiver in the league.
What's so funny about this post, Landry, Hyde, Tyrod, etc isn't proven talent?

Tyrod didn't just end the Bills playoff slump?

This is the most competent Browns team in a very long time. When you dissect the roster you'd only see a weakness at Safety in my opinion, meaning we have strong competition at every position and it's going to bring out the best in guys.

I may be wrong but didn't the Browns lose 5 games by 3 points or less?

That's with a ton of young players and a tanked season, imagine what we do with players who can finish? It's looking like 6 or 7 wins.

Kruger, Dansby, Whitner weren't proven talents? Zietler wasn't a proven talent?

Seriously every single new front office gets this same "these are the guys" and these same exact statements are recycled every 2 years.

And every year we get the "this team lost X games by 7 points last year, we are close to breaking out!"

Like seriously do you guys really not remember these exact same statements being made every 2 years for the last forever?

Maybe you guys should take the expectations game down a notch.

It's like you never learn.

Sure I see your point a little, but you've named aging defensive veterans. NFL is an offensive league, we've added legitimate young offensive guys at key positions to pair with what we already had in Josh, Duke, Coleman, etc.

I for one haven't been this high on the Browns in a really long time. So I'm new to being optimistic again, and besides the OL, when was the last time we had a strength at something? Gordon, Landry, Coleman, Njoku is a strength. Hyde, Duke, Chubb will be a strength. Defensive front 7 is working hard to be a strength. We now have middle of the pack QB play, in my opinion at least.

Turnovers really, and I mean really hurt this football team last year, we've added Tyrod and Baker, 2 guys whom don't turn it over often. Tyrod had a decent year playing with WRs not named Josh Gordon and Jarvis Landry.

I think we're in for an exciting year for our standards. Haley is great at what he does, and Hue signed off on that. Key guys just gotta stay healthy .

I don't expect many wins this season...probably 5.

But I do expect VASTLY improved play. I understand the people with higher expectations, and I understand the people who are urging others to temper their expectations.

But @The Wizard of Moz the difference here between Kruger and Zeitler and these other players you're mentioning is that the assumption is we significantly upgraded the QB position this offseason.

I have warned people to expect Tyrod to frustrate us with his conservative play at times, but I think it's pretty obvious that he's a clear upgrade at the most important position in sports. That combined with a proven offensive coordinator and less Hue Jackson could easily convince me that we'll see a much better Browns team than we're accustomed to..

But I'm sticking with 5-11 for now.

I predict 4-6 wins every year and I've been wrong most years... With that said I'm going with 4-6 wins

Edit: I also think 2021 could be the year they start competing for the playoffs (wild card, nothing crazy here)

I mean, yeah, of course.

But if you're not excited about this team or the direction they're headed, then you never will be, because this is the best roster since 2007.

Yes, temper the expectations, but understand we're in-store for an competitive turnaround.

The prospect of being somewhat better than 0-16 isn't something which excites me, honestly.

Nor does "best roster since 2007" designations that mean nothing on paper.

Getting excited for what this team could be doesn't take into account Hue Jackson's complete and utter lack of creativity offensively or Gregg Williams poor scheming on defense.

The only thing that would excite me is either of these guys adjusting to the talent they have. Until that happens, there's really no reason for me to get excited about this team's direction.

My biggest fear is that the Browns go 5-11 and Huckster Haslam cites a “five game improvement” as justification for keeping Hue another year.

It's funny you've mentioned that, Hue was on a talk show and talk is cheap but he said something along the lines of understanding to playing to players strengths and how it's something they have to do to bring out the best effective play. Then he went on to mentioning why he brought in Haley because he's one of the better OCs in the league. He's going to let him have 100% reigns and expects improvement.

By the analytics, he Browns should have won two or three games last year. So winning five games does not mean anything to me. If we win less than six or seven then Hue Jackson should be fired.

Hue Jackson absolutely should be fired. He is an awful coach.

You’re completely underestimating the having a top 15 or so QB already on the roster.
