If people dislike Kyrie's ISOs and over-dribbling on this forum I can't imagine what would happen with KD. I honestly think Durant is an overrated player who has one skill that he is arguably the best at: scoring. He is absolutely top-5, but frankly, I don't think his skillset is conducive to winning a championship.

A one-two punch of LeBron-KD reminds me of a slightly supped-up Westbrook-KD. I would do the trade if we don't win it all, but honestly, I don't think it would give us the extra edge needed to beat the Warriors/Spurs. It would improve the team, but not by as much as many make it out to seem.
While I think there is 0% chance it happens, a Lebron-KD combo (even at LBJs age) will probably become the most cohesive & dominant duo in NBA history. LBJ easily fits back into his natural playmaking role and KD will be wide open all day due to the attention LBJ will command. The difference between LBJ & Westbrook is all mental. IMO Russell is an idiot. He consistently makes bad basketball decisions despite his superior athleticism. LBJ would minimize those same situational errors, and both players would thrive.

If you want to throw another block of wood into this dumpster fire, imagine adding CP3 to the mix...

If he does that...and lands KD...I will personally drive down to Bath and take one for the team.

Whose the point guard for this duo? Kyrie or CP3? :celb (13):

It'd have to be Kyrie since we'd be limited by a hard-cap with no exceptions.

I smell a blockbuster....:cha (20):

While I love the thought of KD on this team; I see no reason for OKC to do this. Hell theyd even be better to just let him walk. Its better to hit the bottom and bounce bank over being the treadmill team they would with Westbrook & KD.

For OKC, they're faced with a significant problem.

They could hit the bottom, but that means lose Westbrook next year. And with that, there's no guarantee of perennial success in the draft (see: Cavaliers, 76ers, Timberwolves).

The Cavs would be one of few teams that could let Durant walk while reimbursing OKC with a quality piece. Kevin Love is a top-tier player, and off of the Cavs he'd be one of the top PFs in the NBA. He's also great friends with Russell Westbrook and the two might be amicable to staying in OKC for the long-haul.

You'd be giving Westbrook a reason to stay and with the rising cap and team-friendly contracts, you'd be able to pursue another free agent in 2017-18.

From OKC's perspective, it makes a great deal of sense to build around Love/Westbrook/Ibaka + 1, rather than starting over completely from scratch and hoping to get lucky in the draft knowing that free agents likely won't come to OKC just cuz.

LOL I love how I propose a lengthy "Love for KD" trade months ago and get laughed at. Now all of a sudden it's plausible.

It's possible. I wouldn't say it's plausible or probable. I think for one, the Cavs will win the Finals this year; and if they don't, I don't think Durant will come to replace Kevin Love and play with LeBron James.

Again, it's possible, but I just don't see why Kevin Durant would do it unless he felt that he, Irving, and James somehow guaranteed a championship and he was willing play second fiddle behind James for years to come.

If I had to guess, Durant would, like most competitive guys, either want his own team, or to win with the franchise that drafted him. He can get that elsewhere.

But the one reason Durant might entertain the idea is that he'd be leaving OKC on good terms, giving them an opportunity to get something in return, rather than just walking in free agency.

...but....but I love Kevin...

So we are complaining about Kyrie's scoring first mentality in this team and would get another high scoring star onboard? In the process we would trade one of the best passing big men in the league to end up with 3 high volume scorers?

That's nice for NB2K16 but I don't see how this would work ego and balance wise.

I think he's a frustrating player. He's 6-11 and has no post game at all.

I tend to agree a bit. I think he's super talented and definitely a great player.

But he's really not improved that much since entering the league.

Barkley says this is a lot, he doesn't ever get easy shots. Doesn't seem to know how to.

He could be so much better than what he is. I think he could be in that LeBron territory as a great too.

I don't think he'll ever sniff it though.

Like in what planet would you not trade Kevin Love for Kevin Durant if you could?

I'd love to see the reasoning for Griffin rejecting this trade. "Can't do it, we like how Kevin Love passes the ball too much."

Again, such a trade makes no sense if LeBron doesn't commit to playing the 4 full-time.
