Someone PLEASE do something about this horseshit. It's an embarrassment to this forum to have this in Cavs Talk while we're still actively pursuing a championship.

Why hasn't this been move to Around the NBA where it belongs???

Ditto. Wtf the moderators doing? This should be in around the league or removed entirely. Keep the off-season BS, to the off-season. It will be here soon enough.

Seriously, go look at the Celtics forum, and they literally have copied and pasted threads from this forum with them mocking half of the ridiculous BS that is put on here.

That Csports dude at least talked Cavs, no matter how annoying, before he was removed... Crap like this has more to do with other teams, in the middle of the Cavs playoff run nonetheless. Smh.

Yeah. We need to lock this thread.

I mean, everyone is free to discuss whatever they want. But, I feel this is a time when we should be united and be ALL IN. I understand why some want to discuss this and I don't think they are wrong or "not true Cavs fans". But, until our season is over, LeBron is playing for us. So, lets not waste our time discussing about what could happen and just enjoy this season and marvel at the great man putting on a show!

Time to be ALL IN!

We were almost at the END of the Cavs’ playoff run...

I just don’t see LBJ being ready to change his game drastically to fit somewhere at this point in his career. You’d think it would be time—he’s been playing for 15 years. He’s just too effective as a ball dominant initiator to go to a team that has the next generational talent at that spot (Philly). I don’t see him staying in CLE at this point. The roster just isn’t enough. It’s just tough to see a good fit elsewhere. Utah? New Orleans? I just don’t see Philly, and unless Hollywood plays into it I don’t see LA.
I don't know, Philly makes a ton of sense to me.

First, their young nucleus is amazing. That goes without saying. Fultz, Simmons, Saric, Embiid. That's obviously very appealing. With Bird Rights, they can keep that together as long as they want.

Second, LeBron is getting older. He's gonna be 34 next year. When I think about LeBron playing for another 6-7 years, I always think about Karl Malone. Malone was a similar build (6-9, 250 -- LeBron is 6-8, 250) and more importantly, he was effective until he was 40. I have envisioned LeBron gradually transitioning into more of a PF role later in his career.

Philly could roll out something like:
C - Embiid
PF - LeBron (trade Saric for assets)
PG - Simmons
SG - Fultz
SF - Covington

Or maybe something like:
C - Embiid
PF - Saric
SF - LeBron
PG - Simmons
SG - Fultz

And since Philly has actual depth, LeBron doesn't need to run the offense all the time. It seems like the entire time LeBron has been back, the offense shits the bed when he sits. I would imagine having two competent PGs on the team (Fultz, Simmons) would be wildly appealing to him. Maybe 3-4 years from now LeBron transitions into an 32 MPG Andre Iguodola super sub.

As a PF, he's still versatile enough to be a stretch 4; he's a competent shooter from 3. And there are a lot of bigs (Draymond Green, Kevin Love, Nikola Jokic) who are great passers. I don't think LeBron's IQ/passing abilities would be wasted.

Philly seems like a great fit to me. I hope he stays here, but if he leaves, that team makes the most sense to me. The ball movement with Simmons and LeBron would be amazing.

Who gives a fuck what Celtics fans are discussing on their forum? And I'm being dead serious about that. Who gives a fuck what some random Celtics fans are making fun of?

I got a call from a ticket rep today trying to sell me on ticket packages for next season based off of the fact I bought tickets off the website to ONE game LAST season. I usually go to 2-3 games a year but this year was just difficult with work travel, family events, and to be honest the constant drama and half assed play from the team this year didn't exactly make me want to drop a couple hundred dollars and make the trip up to Cleveland.

I've never got this kind of phone call before from the Cavs and like I said I've gone to multiple games every year except this year. It makes me wonder if people within the organization think, or know, that LeBron is leaving. Cavs tickets pretty much sell themselves with LeBron James. Let alone it seems like a desperation move for someone to dig up a record of two tickets to one game that were purchased for in November of 2016 by someone that lives hours away, and think they can sell that person on an 11 game ticket package.

I don't know, maybe I'm just paranoid and overthinking it, but it definitely caught me off guard as kind of odd given the timing and the lack of this kind of sales call happening in previous years when I would've been much more of a qualified lead.

Somebody please make me feel less weird about this.

If people in the ticket office KNEW LeBron was leaving, that means dozens, if not hundreds, or people know he's leaving. There's no way to keep that from leaking.

Also, teams generally do things like this after successful seasons. I bought Astros tickets once, and ever since winning the WS, they've sent me what seems like five emails a week.

Not sure why this would need to be locked. It's an intriguing topic that keeps popping up in various threads. You don't want to discuss so let's lock the thread?

This thread literally makes no sense

You say if he chooses to leave then list Cleveland as an option?

This site has been way too RealLeBronFans lately. Why is it that almost every other player in the NBA is expected to be patient and work things out with their team but every single year LeBron gets a pass for

Also this is the middle of a fucking playoff run. And only 50% of people voted Cavs.

If he leaves I won't root for him. I will actually root for the Warriors. LeBron isn't the Cleveland Cavaliers and the way you guys fucking treat him like it'd be an honor if he stayed has gotten so over the top. Kobe had years where his team fucking blew I doubt the Lakers fans were hoping he could go to greener pastures. And they worked it out. Why is it that if LeBron doesn't have a title contention team around him every single year he has the green light to just go wherever from you guys? A leigh way afforded to nobody else of his caliber in history

It's such a fucking weird thought process. What if LeBron goes to Philly and Embiid suffers an injury the first year and they get bounced by Boston? Should LeBron leave again? Gotta optimize it every year?

This thread sums up why I've mostly been sticking to the Browns section lately. I'm honestly at a loss that so many people seem to value LeBron and his career more than the actual Cleveland Cavaliers

The wording in the OP was admittedly not great but most seemed to get the point - if you're LeBron, where do you play next season? It's a fascinating argument because there's no perfect fit, including here. It also has nothing to do with "RealLeBronFans" - it's a great, relevant basketball topic right now.

I don't think Fultz is going to turn out to be that good, honestly. (The Philly trade with Boston was horrible, since Tatum is one of the top rookies of the last couple of years, can you imagine how good they would be with him? Never trade with Danny Ainge, people!). But if Philly can get JJ Redick to buy in for a somewhat reduced salary, they will still have amazing lineups available. Embiid/Simmons/Saric/Covington/Lebron has everyone 6'8 or above, rim protection, decent shooting, and multiple ball handlers. Embiid/Simmons/Saric/Redick/Lebron is a notch up on the shooting, and Embiid/Simmons/Redick/Covington/Lebron has multiple shooting specialists for Lebron to pass to, excellent defense, etc. Then if they can keep Belinelli and Ilyasova they will have even more shooters off the bench.

They could use Fultz as a sweetner to trade away Jerryd Bayless to get the cap space to keep Redick and resign at least one of Belinelli and Ilyasova. Plus, they have the tenth pick in this year's draft to add to that!

The thing about Lebron going to Philly is that they can build a true next level positionless team, because they have great passers, handlers, and shooters with frontcourt size. It would suck if he left Cleveland but it would be fascinating to watch what they could build there.

If the Celtics KO the Sixers in this year's playoffs, and they handled them easily tonight, then it probably increases the chance of Lebron going there. It will look like less of a pussy move.

Man fuck this thread ... I can't believe we are in a playoff run and all these things where is LeBron gonna go threads keep popping up... I get it from the national media but no Real Cavs Fans should be starting this shit while we're battling for a title regardless of how slim you think our chances are
This

Respectfully, there's nothing worse to me than people who come to a thread and post about how stupid it is. I don't care to discuss the Browns choice of Denzel Ward so you know what I do? I don't visit that thread. This is a fun topic to discuss for some...if it's not to you, that's fine, just go elsewhere on RCF...plenty of threads for everyone.

This is not true. I live overseas and people know LeBron but some have no clue who he plays for. Secondly Lebrons popularity adds billions to the NBA whereas if the Cavs lost the franchise outside of Cleveland no one would care. The Cavs are known because of LeBron not the other way around.

Nope. The Cavs existed before LeBron, and they will exist after. While he has been the franchises most important player, the team is more important.

Just because people know who he is, but don't know which team he plays for isn't relevant. These types of people don't know anything about basketball or really invest in it in any meaningful way.

Again, it's the Cleveland Cavaliers, not the Cleveland LeBrons. If you're not a fan of the team, you don't have any business being on a forum called Real Cavs Fans.

Please show me anyone who has said they value LeBron as an individual more than the Cavaliers as their favorite franchise. I'll wait.

Burt Macklin states in an earlier post in this forum:

"Because LeBron's career is more valuable and important in the context of NBA history than the whole of Cavaliers'. Besides, you guys don't or ever did deserve him to be playing for the Cavs".

Go back and look at his post. He's literally claiming he values LeBron's career more than the Cavs.
