I wish I could say that, in all intellectual honesty, but I can't.

I thought it was a mistake to start Bauer twice, and I thought starting Naquin in center was a mistake.

Sure, the Cubs were the better team. But, with a few more plays/breaks/better decisions, WIN. The Cubs being the better team just meant we had little margin for error; but we made errors.

I never trusted Bauer. In Game 5, I would have gone with Merritt/Salazar/bullpen. And I thought Tito left Tomlin and Kluber in too long, when they clearly didn't have.

Right up until Game 5, I loved this team, for how a different guy stepped up every game. But those last three games, a lot of different guys came up small. But we still had one last chance. And then God fucked us.
Bro please get the hell out of here with"God fucked us" bullshit. You started watching the Indians during the playoffs. You've been spewing terrible takes during this whole run

I started watching the Indians before you were a twinkle in your daddy's eye...

Tito built his reputation on trusting his players and getting them to perform their best.

Obviously, Bauer not starting was not even a consideration. Certainly not for an unhealthy Salazar or for a rookie in Merritt.

Tito did his job and then some, it's up to Bauer, Tomlin and Kluber to get the job done against an incredible Cubs offense. They didn't. That's the way it goes.

That's what appears to have happened. Tito was loyal to Bauer, and it cost him.

Look- I think this team achieved remarkable things. But they helped the Cubs beat them, in the end. They played 173 wonderful games.

Sure sounds like it to me

Well, it's one or the other - either it sounds like I started watching the Tribe in the playoffs, or I started watching them before you were conceived. Which is it, now?

How do you intend to help players produce at their best when the manager is going to pull you from a World Series start with no viable alternative available?

This wasn't about Tito being loyal, this is common sense to trust the players who got you there instead of replacing him on nothing more than a gut feeling based on no evidence.

I'm gonna go with when the playoffs started. Or you're one of those shitty reactionary uneducated Cleveland fans where they want everyone fired. What's your opinion on the Dolanz?

You would be wrong. I started watching the Tribe before you were conceived. Spend many an afternoon and night pissing in a trough and having my Keds stick to the grody concourse at Municipal Stadium, during the 70s.

I think the Dolans ruined a great thing that Jacobs and John Hart built. The team was selling out, and shelling out for the players they needed to win consistently. The Dolans reigned in spending, and it cost them revenue. You need to spend money to make money. Antonetti has impressed me, and Tito has been a god-send, but if the Dolans don't spend money, I'd say we're about 50/50 to make the playoffs next year. The Tigers, Red Sox, Yankees, Blue Jays, Orioles, and Rangers won't stand still.

I had a feeling about Merritt. What he did in the clincher in Toronto was Herculean. The moment wasn't too big for him. I trusted him to do it again. I had bigger concerns than Bauer's ego.

Am I a kindergarten teacher here? Now now kiddies, at least act like you know the standard and rules of the classroom.

Just because this is the Indians board, doesn't mean the same rules don't apply. Now everyone knock it the hell off.

Does anyone in here find themselves thinking back a few days and under their breath muttering (%_))&==*@-=-:/%!&$@%=(*.

Yes, I do. But let's look forward to our future. Nearly everyone is returning to the Indians next year, and we have a really great pipeline.

Looks like we'll just have to put up with Championship contenders with the Indians and Cavs for the next few years...what a pain in the ass we all have to deal with.

Pretty sure that's how Johnny Manziel became an NFL football player..... Not sure that bodes well for your argument.

This is like the one side of the playground where the monitors don't go.

EVERYONE SCATTER!!!!

We'll never know, will we? In any case, it couldn't have turned out any worse than it did. If they start Merritt in Game 5, they don't lose more than 3 games in a row, and maybe they lose less...
