WWE/NXT/AEW/NJPW Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Ten years since the Benoit tragedy......I remember hearing the news first that they were all dead and then hearing the details and just shocked that he did what he did. Still baffles me that a guy who was so respected by his peers could murder his seven year old son

Conspiracy.. didn't happen. ;)

Ironically this came after the worst storyline of all time in Vince blowing up as he shut the door of his limo. He was dead for a little bit then had to release the news of Benoit to the audience the next week I believe.

Yup. They had to ditch that storyline almost immediately after it happened. I wasn't watching wrestling regularly at that time, but I tuned in after hearing that Benoit died so I caught the Raw where they did the tribute before they found out what actually happened.

LAvar ball is on Raw. why am i not surprised, and lonzo has intro music

Did Lonzo come out solo? Did he atleast get a pop lol?

Lavar ran to the ring like a created wrestler from Just Bring It.

Raw is finally getting it's shit together, for the most part (Wyatt-Rollins feud still feels aimless to me). It's just too bad that all these solid feuds have to be wasted on the dumbest PPV name of all time.

Ratings must be in the shitter to call on Lavar.

There were various reports of Stone Cold appearing but that was shit.

Where is wrestling on the social scale right now?

If a kid in high school went to school and talked wrestling in the cafeteria, would he be considered a dork or would this be something that was socially acceptable?

Same question for the workplace.

Closer to the dork phase, but not 100% dork?

I never talked about wrestling in school.

3rd-5th was probably when I talked wrestling, but shit, Stone Cold, Rock, Taker, DX, nWo, Wolfpac, those were household names to sit around and say who you liked more and who had the best finisher.

I remember kids having Rock lunch boxes and that would spark a discussion right there.

The NXT match between Asuka and Nikki Cross from this week was fucking great. Those two beat the shit out of each other.

What a joke

After years of speculation and hanging on by a thread, Impact Wrestling is dead. Kind of. The Tenneseean reports that the company is killing off the Impact Wrestling name and is rebranding to Global Force Wrestling. Impact officially bought the rights to GFW earlier in the week now that GFW founder Jeff Jarrett had come back to power in Impact and the plan is to use the GFW name going forward.

GFW’s weekly PopTV television show will continue to be called “Impact,” the last legacy of a company that began as TNA in 2002 under Jeff and Jerry Jarrett. Anthem Sports remains the owner of the company and the offices for the company will remain in Nashville, Tennesee.

“We’re a global brand,” Jarrett told the site regarding the decision to rebrand. “We have partnerships in Mexico, Japan, other places. Collectively coming together, we’ve combined forces and basically the rebrand final touches happen (on Sunday) at ‘Slammiversary.'”
