Looks like they're actually trying to make the battle royals mean something this year. I don't recall them really building it up prior to the day in year's past.

With the brand split, they do have more legitimate guys built up to perform in the match.

My guess is that the battle royals fill up the pre-show. 6 hours of main show should be enough to get the other matches in.

The obvious thing they should do with the battle royal is give the winner a title shot some time after 'Mania. It wouldn't even have to be a PPV title shot. You could just have the match on Raw or Smackdown. But having some meaningful reward for the battle royal actually makes it interesting, whereas now it's just a bathroom break.
 
It will be interesting to see how they handle the Owens/Zayn vs McMahon/Bryan Match
on one hand unless Owens and Zayn want to leave you don't want hem to lose the match
on the other hand you don't want Daniel Bryan to lose his first match back

Bryan heel turn on Shane incoming ?
Bryan is so over as a face that would seem to be the direction Vince would want to go.

Rumor has it that Shane has diverticulitis and will miss 'Mania. They didn't mention it on Smackdown, and in fact I think said he'd be there, but it's still possible they have to replace him. Not sure who they'd use in that instance, but I think it would make the match a lot more interesting.

Hell, just give me Bryan versus Zayn. That would fucking tear the house down.

Only one person would work to replace Shane IMO

The real problem isn't replacing Shane, that's easy. The problem is the finish to the match where either Shane or Daniel was going to turn.

Zayn and Owens aren't going to lose, and you can't have Bryan lose his return match without some high level drama.

I wonder if the whole diverculitis thing with Shane is a shot at lesnar.

I am predicting Carmella Cashes in on Nia Jax and Alexa bliss and becomes the raw womens champion.

I know im late af but I dont watch wwe anymore and I had no idea Daniel was returning. Def about to buy wwe network and catch up.
How far do you guys think I need to go back to get the current scope of things?

If I were you, I'd just catch up with NXT.

The main roster product is very inconsistent and swings more toward garbage most of the time, but NXT is pretty much consistently awesome. 205 Live has been great too for the past two months or so. Basically after Enzo had to vacate the title for getting fired and they started featuring great wrestling again.

Excited for WM to be over at this point. I’m over the Lesnar nonsense. The whole Brain Strowman thing has been a disaster to.

Only matches I’m excited to see are AJ/Nakamura and the triple threat IC match. Everything is pretty much a given as to the outcome. But those two matches will steal the show.
I will like to add, I went to a Smackdown show Saturday night and AJ truly is phenomenal. After his match, he literally spend 30 minutes walking around giving high fives, shaking hands and getting pictures with people. My buddy and I and our kids were in the corner by the sound/video board and he came by and talked to us and gave my kids a five and shook their hands too. Awesome man! By this time it was past 11pm and he was still out there walking around. Surreal experience
