WWE/NXT/AEW/NJPW Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
RIP Vader. Dude was kind of a POS in real life but man he was fun to watch when I was a kid.

What's weird is everyone gushing about how much they like him.

Always seemed like a twat.

I remember he got in that spat with Ricochet (I think it was Ricochet...one of those high fliers) on Twitter and he just seemed like an asshole.

But that might have been a work.

Also, that story of his eye popping out in the match is amazing.

It was Will Ospreay, but it was about his and Riccochets match.

I went to a Foley speaking thing last month and he cried, like actually couldn’t compose himself, about the idea that Leon White almost gave an eye ans no one really respects him and he’s revered for losing his ear. Was weird.

I thought most people respected Vader as a performer. I mean, he was a great performer. Had an awesome presence and was really the first big guy who could move like a much smaller guy (lots of guys like that today, from Kevin Owens to the Mack to Mil Muertes and on and on it goes).

I also don't think anyone respects Foley specifically for losing the ear. We respect him for his entire career where he constantly tried to kill himself to entertain people.

Im one of the few that didn't buy in/like Foley at all. I never saw anything out of him that made me think "He's one of the best". I always sorta thought he was a fat, out of shape guy that like to get attention and the only way to do that was to do things nobody had ever seen before. You know, like thrown on thumbtacks, fall through a steel cage, fly onto a table 20 ft from the air, I guess lose an ear. He'd crack the top 50, but, not top 25.

I don't think Foley is one of the all-time best wrestlers or anything, but he does have a ton of very memorable moments that I'll always remember, from Hell in a Cell to that awesome Royal Rumble street fight with Triple H.

pretty sure people hated Vader. Dude was incredibly stiff, didnt sell and was a dick in the ring.

Now, I think he was generally a good dude away from the ring, but he would take advantage of people in the ring.

BTW, Vader vs Shamrock in 97/98 was incredible...because it was a shoot fight.

Couldn't disagree more. Agreed that he wasn't the best in ring technician, but dude still put on memorable matches by being a great in ring story teller and taking insane bumps. Plus, I think he was incredible at cutting promos as both Mankind and Cactus Jack. His "Kill Dewey" promo in ECW might be my favorite promo of all time.

Watched the first night of the UK Championship Tournament. What a great show. Not a single bad match, and the six man tag match between Undisputed Era and British Strong Style was fantastic. I legit thought O'Reilly might have been dead at the end.

Loved how they booked the tournament too. The NXT team just does such a great job of telling stories through these tournaments. It's so simple and yet the main roster fails so incredibly at it.

Also, Flash Morgan Webster was the Cedric Alexander of this tournament. He didn't win, but what a breakout performance that was.

Lucha Underground has been fantastic this season. The story is moving forward at a breakneck pace and the matches have been generally very good.

Pentagon's surprise appearance this week was fantastic. Also, Mil Muertes pretty much just murdered one of the refs.

I randomly turned on the network because I heard there was a ppv. Finn Balor is now on the pre show!? Just awful.

Nakamura and Asuka were fucked over. How does half a year of build up, a heel turn(Nakamura), and countless title opportunities not turn into a title run with the main belts?

What a waste of time

Brock Lesner is going to be on RAW tonight after the ultimatum from Angle, right?
