Jinder still walking around with that strap is a travesty

Sad that the WWE Title hasn't even been the top feud on Smackdown since Styles lost it at the Rumble, and they botched the Wyatt run.

I tried to be open minded about the whole Jinder push, but man... he just flat out sucks. Even his "good" matches are boring because of the pace he works at. Worst of all, every one of his PPV title matches ends the same fucking way. Singh brothers (or Khali) distract opponent, opponent beats the shit out of them, Jinder hits his finisher and gets the dirty win. Rinse and repeat.

I get that heels aren't supposed to win clean most of the time, but for anyone to take him even remotely seriously he needs to win a big match clean.

Couldn't agree more... having Wyatt lose the belt to Orton after a month, only for Orton to lose it to Jinder is such a Vince McMahon thing to do.

"His vascularity is incredible... Lengthy title reign it is." Fucking run a bodybuilding contest you roided up psycho.

Watching the Mae Young Classic bracketology special. Really looking forward to this tournament. The first four episodes drop on Monday. I've heard some rumblings that it may be even better than the CWC.

Going to be great seeing Kairi in NXT eventually too. She and some of these other women could really liven up the women's division, which is basically just Asuka, Ember, and Nikki right now as far as legitimate competitors go.

Also, they could really build up to Asuka/Baszler as a big money type of match down the road.

Thoughts from round one of the MYC:

  • Thought it was a big mistake to have Princessa Sugehit advance over Kay Lee Ray. Ray/Martinez would have been an awesome second round match. Sugehit just didn't do anything for me.
  • More of Zeda please. Yum.
  • Speaking of, Baszler looked solid in her first match. I would have liked to have seen her against a more experienced opponent, though. Didn't really get a good read on her in her first MYC match because Zeda is even less experienced than Baszler is.
  • Jazzy Gabert is a star. They need to sign her. She'd be the type of monster heel they've tried and failed to turn Nia into.
  • Laith/Gabert was a really good match. It's a shame they both can't advance.
  • Xia Li has a great look and showed some promise. She just needs more time.
  • Rachel Evers vs. Marti Belle was the drizzling shits. Holy jesus was this match awful. I wish that neither of these chicks advanced, because neither deserved it.
  • Rhea Ripley in a word? Bouncy. Hopefully someone hacks her phone at some point. :chuckle:
  • Really disappointing that both Sarah Logan and Mia Yim can't move on, especially over Rachel Evers, who put on one of the worst matches I've ever seen, and Rhea Ripley, who was good but is still very green. Logan's got a great look and is very talented. Would have liked to see more of her.
  • Toni Storm is another woman who should be walking out of this tournament with a WWE deal. She's already better than a lot of the women on the main roster at 21.
  • I see a girl like Dakota Kai who is already on a WWE developmental deal and I can't help but wonder why she's not getting TV time. She's clearly better than some of the women that are. Same with Sarah Logan.
  • Kavita Devi was surprisingly not terrible. She's green as grass, but she had a couple of good moves. Just needs a lot of time to add to her arsenal.
  • Piper Niven versus Santana Garrett was the best match of the tournament thus far. Santana Garrett deserves a deal out of this. Great look, dynamic in the ring. The main roster needs more women like that.
  • Piper is proof that, regardless of size, some people just have it. She moves more fluidly and athletically than many of the girls in the tournament who weigh a hundred pounds less than she does.
  • Nice to see Candice LeRae get a WWE shot finally.
  • Conti/Evans was a surprisingly good match considering neither has been doing this for very long. I think both are on WWE developmental deals so I'd imagine we'll be seeing both in NXT down the road.
  • Pre-match video hyping Nicole Savoy as the Queen of Suplexes? Naturally, she pulls off zero suplexes in the match. Makes sense. Probably a case of a bad opponent, as Gonzalez is a lot bigger and heavier than Savoy.
  • Kairi/Tessa was a great match. I'd say either that or Piper/Garrett was the best match of the first round. Probably not coincidentally, both matches featured two veterans who know their way around a ring.

The Roman & Cena promo felt real last night lol. So many digs from the IWC were thrown in.

Just wait until Roman wins the feud and Cena comes out and sucks his dick the next night, saying he's the better man and he proved it.

It's going to happen at some point, and the fans are gonna shit all the fuck over it.

Really fun match between Chris Hero and Hideo Itami on NXT earlier tonight. Nice and hard-hitting, and the ending was perfect given how the feud has played out so far.

Girlfriend bought me Wrestlemania tickets. Definitely plan on checking out ROH. Probably want to go to one more, anyone suggest one other company?

Lucha Underground is the best wrestling show on television right now. I think the first two seasons are on Netflix. The show itself is on El Rey, although I typically just download episodes since Sling only keeps new episodes up for a couple of days and sometimes I miss them.

It reminds me a lot of the Attitude Era mixed with Mexican wrestling. The storylines are typically more adult in nature and big matches have a tendency to feature the kind of blood and violence that WWE shies away from these days. Just keep in mind that this is not a typical wrestling show, but rather a show about a wrestling promotion. What this means is that the show kind of exists in its own universe, and there's a lot of crazy stuff that happens in the backstage segments. It also means that they can actually kill off characters from time to time, which is fun. It also means that the backstage cameras don't exist within the confines of the show. Backstage segments are shot like actual TV dramas where the characters don't know the camera is there, and the announcers out by the ring don't see the things that we see when they cut to the back.

Dario Cueto is also the best non-wrestling character on any wrestling show. He's the guy who runs the promotion on screen, and they hired an actual actor to play the part, which goes a long way toward anchoring a lot of the backstage segments, as he can carry the wrestlers (some of whom are fine actors, some of whom are not) through scenes.

New Japan is also great, although I just don't have the time to follow it in-depth. I rarely even watch Raw or Smackdown any more. I'm mostly just on an NXT/Lucha Underground kick right now, along with WWE PPVs.

Yeah I watched the first two seasons and watched New Japan. I meant the companies that usually have shows that weekend. I know New Japan won't have Wrestlemania weekend shows due to them not wanting to look insuperior to WWE

Oh I got you. Misread the question. :chuckle:

I would definitely, absolutely go to the NXT show. Does the package the girlfriend got you include those?

I would probably go with NXT then. The crowds for those Takeover shows are always amazing, and the match quality is typically very good across the board. It's Wrestlemania weekend, too, so you'll probably get some title changes (guys and girls getting called up) and maybe a high-profile debut or two.

Dude, Joey Janela's Spring Break 2 or Progress.

Don't waste your time with ROH.
