Yankees @ Indians series thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Don't know the timetable on Miller's return, but this is when Cody needs to step up the most. Joe Smith also faced 9 batters and gave up only 1 hit, he's defintely surpassed Shaw or Tito is on something. Cool thing about Smith is him and Miller can get you out of jams, so pitching Shaw in a clean inning is only acceptable.
Since Miller was sent to the DL:

-Shaw gave up 1 run in the 9th of a game that was decided
-McAllister gave up 1 run in a 2-1 loss
-Clevinger gave up a 3 run shot to Judge

I hope they don't rush him back if the pen struggles. I'd hate to see him come back too soon as a shortsighted move. It is easy to get compensatory injuries for pitchers when they have something like knee tendinitis.

That was me downplaying your comment that the bullpen has been shit since Miller went down.

The Shaw run Thursday night was inconsequential.

Saturday night was a 1-1 game featuring strong outings from the starters and a matchup of 2 of the best bullpens in baseball: someone had to "blow it" on one of the 2 teams

The bullpen doesn't worry me. Our bats seemingly going anemic every 4th game is the team's biggest issue.

Hopefully the Royals keep losing then.

We have a brutal month of competition.

Kipnis down to a 280+ OBP, not exactly ideal for your leadoff hitter. Make it a hat trick today, waving at pitches all over the plate and just got his bat dirty swinging at one.

2 hits from the team today and you're pissed off at Kipnis for struggling in his first game in a month and the bullpen after Cookie gave up 5 in the 6th?

Makes sense

1st of all Cookie didn't give up 5, Abe did.

I've been pissed about the bullpen mostly since the Boston meltdown, thankfully Kluber and Bauer picked them up, then last night, and today Shaw coming in with a guy on 3rd in a 3 run game.

You try too hard.

Had to leave the game in the 5th and the next time I got to look at my phone it was 5-1. Good hitting or did Cookie leave some over the plate?

You didn't see the Abe moment?

The bats are the big story, but a mistake by Abe losing the ball broke the game open.

Hammy was more pissed than me.

Yeah Almonte loaded up the bases and left a breaking ball down the middle to Ellsbury, I missed that first time around. Yeah he probably should have made that catch but it's far from a can of corn. And yeah man, if Shaw didn't let up that hit in the 6th things totally would have been different.

Did Abe let up those 5 runs in the 2nd the other night vs. Boston too?

You're too emotional and impulsive.

And you drink your Indians kool-aid and convince yourself you're always right.

Go discuss Stanley Johnson some more.

Don't worry, the sun will come up tomorrow and the Indians will take the field again on Tuesday. Enjoy stabbing your Bryan Shaw and Kipnis voodoo dolls in the meantime

Should be one of those 84 win playoff teams. Dont those usually win the WS?
