Same rules as before:
  • You have $15 to spend across all five positions.
  • You must draft one player from each position but you do not have to play them where you drafted them. For example, you can draft Blake Griffin at PF and then play him at C.
  • Use common sense if you choose to take a free player to save money. Don't draft Nikola Vucevic in your small forward slot.

There are a ton of different ways you can go with this, but here is my first attempt at a good lineup:

PG - Chris Paul - $3
SG - Klay Thompson - $4
SF - LeBron James - $5
PF - Kristaps Porzingis - $1
C - DeAndre Jordan - $1 (in hind-sight, I should've made him $2 and Dwight $1)

Have a dollar to spare. Arguably the best distributing point guard of our era feeding Klay and Zing for open threes and mid range shots. LeBron is LeBron. Defensive POtY candidate DeAndre Jordan knocking everything away from the paint.

Chris Paul, Klay Thompson, and LeBron James is an amazing perimeter defending bunch, and Jordan is the league's best at defending the paint. Zinger is 7'3'' and can shoot the lights out when he's hot, but he is my weak link for sure.

Paul
Thompson
George
Bosh or dray
Kat and a back up of Gobert

Kyrie $2
Klay $4
LeBron $5
Blake $3
Drummond $1

That team has shooting, athleticism, rebounding, defense inside and outside, and diverse scoring. Only bad thing is the FT shooting at the 5 spot.

Whats the justification for Russ over Kyrie for double the salary?

I thought every single team would have Irving for $2. That and Draymond are absolute steals

As good as Kyrie is, I've been saying for awhile that, in my opinion Russ is the best point guard in the NBA.

When I got down to the $10 limit I was more inclined to go with Kyrie... But Adams and JR being available for nothing, as well Millsap for only $1, I had the ability to go with Westbrook.

For the $5 limit I really needed to think about team identity. I wanted a long team that could shoot 3s, prevent drive-and-dish players, and dominate inside offensively. Paul George's elite two-way game and under-appreciated passing made him the ideal centerpiece. I needed a true playmaker, though, so I had to decided between going with John Wall, Kevin Love (a necessary shooter), and Drummond or Kyrie Irving, Draymond Green, and Steven Adams. Ultimately, I felt more comfortable with the elite playmaking and perimeter D combo of Wall-JR-George than Kyrie-JR-George - all of whom can score and somewhat defend - because of the lack of playmaking.
