Your 2018 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Nothing special, but he's rated as an excellent defender this year, so if he can give us mediocre production at the plate as he has the last month, that's a win.

Who rates him as an excellent defender?

Who rates him as an excellent defender?

Fangraphs has him with the 2nd most defensive value added among second basemen this season. I don't think he's been that good, but at the very least he's been decent.

How does this section lack quality discussion over the Cavs section?

The Cavs section really doesn't have anything to do with this section.

My opinion of this section is there are only a handful of users willing to post meaningful information and have discussions- whether that be trade targets, player stats/splits, the farm system, around the MLB news, whatever else. Those posts usually fizzle out within a few replies and it ends at that.

If you want to talk about the Cavs or Browns section, there are debates/discussions that last for dozens of pages. It seems like 80% of the posts in this section are from game threads, which are mostly reactionary junk posts- as is the same for the Cavs game threads. There aren't that many active users in this section so the bad posts or trolls stick out a lot more and easily derail the conversation.

This is my second favorite source for Tribe talk behind Wahoo's Tipi on Reddit. There is some quality stuff buried in here if you take the time to dig.

To keep it simple: there just aren't enough people in here posting. Period. It is what it is.

I dont post much because baseball is not an area of strength knowledge wise but i do visit the section daily and appreciate those of you who do post info.

The bottom line is that Cleveland is just not much of a baseball town. The Tribe consistently has one of the worst attendance marks in baseball regardless of how good the team is. There is just more interest in the Browns and even the Cavs (we'll see if LBJ goes) than the Tribe.

Not sure how old you are, but Cleveland was absolutely a baseball town for a very long time. I know in the 90's the Browns were gone, but even before that in the 50's and 60's.

In the 80's the Indians stank and attendance suffered, but Muni Stadium was awful too.

I am not disagreeing as today baseball is a distant third in Cleveland, just wonder what happened.

Also, remember when Cleveland was an Indoor Soccer town? Anyone else use to go to Cleveland Force games regularly? I remember having 10k+ per a game. What a fun dead sport, lol.
