Your Perfect Off Season

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Step 1. Draft Nerlens Noel #1 overall. His knee is clean like a baby's.
Step 2. Trade some combination of #31, #33, future mediocre pick for #13 & Marion from Dallas (because all the cool kids are doing it)
Step 3. Trade #13 + #19 to move up a few spots and draft Cody Zeller
Step 4. Trade Tyler Zeller for Jared Dudley (the Suns like Zeller, we'll pull a fast one on them and send them Tyler)
Step 5. Cut a hole in the box
Step 6. Sign Livingston for as little as possible

My offseason didn't work (attempting to end up with Horford, Thompson, Len and Tyler Zeller in the frontcourt) but I liked this one best just because of the image of the Suns opening a box marked "Fragile - contains Zeller" and then fuming when "it's not the one we ordered". I sent back some eBay purchases this morning so I can certainly empathise.

1. Draft Noel first.

2. Trade 31 & 33 for Marion and 13. Draft Kentavios Caldwell-Pope at 13. Some shooting at SG for a guy that has defensive potential.

3. Draft Reggie Bullock at 19. Finally some shooting at SF. Taking Karasev here would be a wasted pick btw. Have we not learned that shooters also have to be able to play D to get on the floor?

4. Resign Livingston as the back up PG for 3 years at a very cheap price.

5. Send Gilbert to get hypnotized into thinking that it'll be ok to not go balls out this year for the playoffs, but instead play all of these young guys a ton so that we see what we have headed into next season with the mega free agent class.

PG - Kyrie, Livingston
SG - Waiters, KCP
SF - Marion, Bullock, Gee
PF - Tristan, Noel
C - Andy, Noel, Zeller

We keep our cap flexibility and hopefully compete for the 8th seed for the playoffs. We find out who can play, if KCP and Bullock can fit in as 3&D guys, then making a push for a stud FA next offseason sounds very possible. It'll look like we just need someone to step in to be elite...

I can't see any possible way for the Cavs to get back into the top 6 and keep our #1 pick. If we could somehow do that, that would be amazing.

Draft Noel and Karasev. resign Livingston and Ellington. Make sure Casspi and Daniel Gibson are NOT on the opening day roster I'm "meh" on Speights.
