Ernie Grunfeld, however, IS a shit human being.

Yes, however he also needs to cut payroll.

What sense would it make to keep Z, pay him, then have his cap hold on the team? Just pay him now and allow Z to do what he wants.

Let's put it this way, if Grunfeld holds him hostage, there will be a lot of teams and players that will avoid the Wiz like the plague.

Everyone involved in this situation is playing it out perfectly. The league won't be able to have any questions about it since everything has been done as it's supposed to be done.

The media and other teams admitting interest is actually helping the situation and reducing any questions too.

Z just needs to enjoy his vacation and more wear and tear on his feet and get rested up for the championship run.

Roda said yesterday that we can just put a player on injured reserve to open up a roster spot for Z. Most likely Telfair as they have already stated he has a grion injury and can't play for at least 3 weeks.

good call... i think I believe another option maybe to send d-block or jawad down to the D-league but im not totally positive about that.

This is the second or third time you posted this...as if to say no one can discuss it or even remotely consider he can be a Cav again..whats up with that?
Everyone knows he's property of the Wizzad right now..we all kinda knew well before hand his contract would used as a bargaing chip so there's no new light you can shed on that.

It was sarcasm and I was just saying what Danny boy said.

It wouldn't be Jawad. Not a chance as we need his length on the wing. DJack will be sent down if that was the case.

Anyway; I haven't seen this discussed at all; when Z is bought out and rests AT HOME, etc, can he use the Cleveland Clinic courts to work out and stay in shape until he can sign with the Cavs? If not, where does he work out?

The Cavs need to retire Big Z's jersey for this, even though they will probably do it more for the career he has had here in Cleveland. I'm sure it has to be nerve wracking for him thinking there is an outside chance he gets stuck in that poop storm in DC.

There is no injured reserve in the NBA anymore. Teams have a 15 player roster limit and can activate 12 for each game.
Also when a player is sent to the D-League they still count on the 15 man roster.

When Z comes back the Cavs will have to cut somebody.

For Grunfeld, the question is: "Is screwing over the Cavs worth millions of dollars"? He just traded us Jamison for a worthless draft pick, so my hunch is his answer is no.

No one can really offer Z enough money to make him reconsider Cleveland, and I think he wants to win a championship as badly as anyone.

It's kind of fun watching everyone say the right thing, by which I mean Ferry, Z, his agent. Even the other teams are helping out with our little drama. Get some popcorn and enjoy.

I think them counting against your team roster is stupid, a lot more players who are warming the end of the bench would benefit by developing their skills in the D-league.

They should just make a maximum number of players that can be sent to the D-league so that no one could exploit that.

This looks like some promising news....

WASHINGTON (AP) — Zydrunas Ilgauskas reported to the Washington Wizards on Friday, two days after being acquired in the trade that sent Antawn Jamison to Cleveland.

He did not arrive in time to participate in Washington's shootaround and was inactive for the game Friday night against Denver.

His future in Washington is uncertain and there is a possibility he could be bought out.

Coach Flip Saunders says the team is exploring its options for the next move and did not expect Ilgauskas to attend the game.

Ilgauskas will not travel with the team for the game Saturday against Toronto.

Al Thornton was acquired from the Los Angeles Clippers as part of the three-team deal. He was at the shootaround and Saunders says he expected Thornton to play.

His trip to Washington was a quick one...Z is already back in Cleveland.

I sure hope he gets bought out. For some reason I thought I would be so excited to make a trade and get jamison but for some reason without sounding queer...my heart aches every time I see the bench and dont see Z, I guess you really dont appreciate something fully until its gone.
