Well, it is the Clippers, so the idea that management is too smart not to trade Kaman doesn't apply.

It's also been documented that Kaman has fallen out of favor with Clippers management.

So maybe it's kind of a 1+1=maybe 2 kind of deal.

The Clippers are in the exact same positon as us. One big short. They have 3 quality bigs (Zach, Kaman, Camby) like us (Z, Ben and Andy). They have a washed up big (Skinner AKA Lorenzen Wright) a raw rookie (DeAndre Jordan / JJ Hickson) and one other body (Paul Davis / Darnell Jackson).

It's stupid to think Kaman is on the block unless they are getting a quality big in exchange. Just for your knowledge, Wally isn't that guy.

I haven't seen anyone propose the idea of Wally for Kaman, and if they did, they should be shot for being stupid.

But I think Kaman can be had, for the right price.

Will be interesting to see how Mardy Collins goes in a new environment.

I'm not sure just how easily available Kamen is. Lots of teams have called the Clippers with interest but so far they have shown much in giving him up.
If anything given the Clippers situation and older vet like Camby might be the one who becomes available while they keep a young C as they build for the future.

Either way it's going to take quality to get Kamen, not just an expring contract.

on an aside... that lineup of davis/gordon/thornton/z-bo/kaman/camby may be the best 2-9 team I've ever seen. i know the west is stacked, but how they're 2-9 with a leader like Baron is beyond me. I'd expect that to change.

And if I'm Dunleavy, I'm not moving a legitimate 2-way center who's 7 feet and making 10mil per. That's reasonable in today's NBA (*cough* Dalembert, Bogut, Z, Okafor) Taking on Z-Bo and Baron's deal makes it pretty apparent that they're not in cost cutting mode. Dumping Kaman doesn't make sense.
