Can't wait for Simmons to unleash his inevitable tirade, drop the mic and head over to NBCsports.
He's already expressed plenty of frustration on twitter about ESPN and some of their personalities.
Honestly, he's one of the only like-able guys they have.
When he leaves, there will be little reason for anyone to watch ESPN, certainly as it relates to basketball.
And yet ESPN does crap like that to him....
Wade looked like a super star? No one thinks he can play like one long term ever again. I know what you are trying to do. Save people from a "epic meltdown" if Lebron does not come back. But, you have to admit that this post season the Heat won due to great play by James and great outside shooting by the supporting cast and Wade just playing well enough to help out. They may win it again next year, but Lebron will have to play at a very very high level. He can do it, but I doubt Wade is anywhere near super star status next spring.

was gonna comment on this. saw it live. I think Simmons was gonna say that people could have just followed him to cleveland instead.
I think ESPN gave the HIV cure to Magic and he has to do their bidding or something. He gets on his knees and pretty much tells Lebron that he is on his way to being the best ever. Why?
When Wade looked good, including tonight, he looked like a superstar. I acknowledge he had less impressive games than in the past, but in his good games and most of the regular season he looked like the superstar he's always been.
I guess we'll see next spring. I just haven't seen all this evidence people keep referring to about him breaking down. Doesn't seem to be true any more so than any other players his age.
I dunno whether the board will have an epic meltdown WHEN LeBron doesn't come back, but they'd be silly to. At this point in time, I see no argument that the Cavs will be a better option for him. I'll change my mind if Wade does start breaking down and the Cavs make a playoff run this year.
Just awfully tough to convince a superstar to leave a team post three-peat, especially after promising a coty 7 championships.
Im actually suprised the score stayed that close and the Spurs were in it the whole game. Heat couldn't have played much better, yet they barely won. Spurs are an impressive bunch.
LeBron teamed up with his buddies to win "multiple championships" and sell more jerseys in China. Mission accomplished. It shouldn't have been, but mission accomplished.
And this win validates the whole "collude with two of your buddies" approach to building a team. It's bad for sports, bad for competitive balance. It's a shame, but the guys who took the short-cuts got the glory today, and it just means that fan-bases like ours will be grist for the mill for quite a while longer.
I usually agree with a lot of what you say, and I want you to post as often as possible just based on your avatar alone, but this win did not validate the "collude with your buddies" approach in any way, shape, or form. If anything, the Boston big 3 created that monster of a trend, and this Miami team is a cautionary tale of why it doesnt guarantee anything.
Wade was a shell of himself this postseason, Bosh has been a major disappointment as a 3rd banana, and LeBron still had to carry an enormous load to get the job done. If anything, role players like Battier, Allen, Birdman, and Chalmers had the help when LeBron needed it.
Add in stricter cap rules and the PR hit LeBron took for the Decision and I dont think we'll be seeing a ton of "big 3's" in the NBA's future, and the ones that are created will struggle mightily to win championships. Players will always want/lobby for better teammates, but it's going to be much more difficult to pull off.
I'm dying to know what Simmons said, and why it was so inflammatory that ESPN decided to cut their feed. Never seen anything like that in my life. Big Brother shit.
