Championship Parade/Rally

I was surprised at all the cussing as LBJ is usually very careful with his image - I think he was just excited and caught up in the moment. As a parent I can understand as you were probably expecting the regular rah rah PC speech and not the f bombs.

But it was great to hear about the bond all the players have and they all seemed to appreciate LBJ thanking each one of them separately like that.

Yea, just watching from a computer it looked super chaotic.

Next year we should be more prepared. Block off and clear the streets for one. Get a bus or something more safe for players to stand on than the roof of a car/truck. The rally could have been done way better. We looked unprepared, but I guess it went pretty well for seemingly putting it together last minute.

So I was in Jack Casino when the shooting happened. I was on the escalator trying to exit the building and call for a ride home when I saw a sea of people running in fear towards the up escalator. I ran with them not even knowing wtf was happening and suddenly people are begging to be let into management offices to hide and other people are crying and yelling all asking me. I figure out a shooter was on the loose from some bits and pieces of hearsay and immediately went for l the emergency exit. but some dude stopped me saying the shooting was outside and to wait. So I did, and soon we were escorted out by the police.

I fucking knew Cleveland couldn't have nice things. I'm ubering back to my hotel now so I don't have all the info on what's happening.

How did a 13 year old girl get into the casino?

Some reports of gangs of kids picking fights with people with FAMILIES in Tower City, and some other ugliness. On top of this shooting.

Was so hoping none of the bad stuff would happen. But the scum of the Earth just can't help themselves.

And to boot this sounds every bit like an unorganized, chaotic mess. From allowing people to roam the streets that the parade is to be on, then allowing them to trample all over people that responsibly planned ahead and carved out a spot on the curb, to having players not on high up vehicles for all to see.

Not to mention that disaster of Fred interviewing these guys like it was after a game in Milwaukee in January.

I just hate to be critical but I cannot help it.. really disappointed. I realize this is a historic number of people that came down but some better planning (how about a longer parade route and spread out the people more???) could have mitigated some of this. Although, not the people out just trying to start trouble.

I know you didn't mean it this way, but getting shot in the leg is pretty serious. There's psychological trauma, enormous hospital bills, incredible pain, shattered bones, months off work, potential loss of job, possible lifelong limp, etc.
