Kevin Durant Leaves OKC- Joining Warriors

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm wondering what Westbrook thinks lol, he about to go hard in the paint next year. KG Ray Allen all over again :D

I don't think Durant leaving OKC is worse than Lebron leaving. OKC has Westbrook. Cavs had Mo Williams

Well, on the bright side at least now I'm sure that Westbrook is about to be my number 1 fantasy draft pick. dude's going to be going ballistic.

OKC has Westbrook for one more, now meaningless season. He's already gone.

This post pretty much supports the notion that KD leaving is worse :chuckle: KD left a legit contender to team up with the team he choked against. LBJ left a team whose best players were Mo, Z and Delonte.

And if you're saying it's not worse for OKC cuz they have Westbrook to fall back on, I don't necessarily agree. If they can receive a boatload of assets by trading him then sure (but that may be difficult since any team trading for Westbrook will damn sure want guarantees from him that he's staying long term). Otherwise, he'll just play out this season in OKC and bolt for nothing. At least the Cavs got a head start on their tank and rebuild (and a nice prize in Kyrie after our first post-LBJ season).

We'll see.

I think that's a nice little idea they can put out there, but they see the same market everyone else sees. So to believe that they actually think they can get someone of equal to or greater value than Delly with the TPE and remaining assets we have..I don't buy it. And I don't think they actually buy it either.

Delly has allot of holes to his game, and it seems we dont want to pay.

He is slow, poor ball handler, and not good at getting to the whole because of his lack of foot speed.

We see the grit, effort, and ability to hit an open 3.

We will see, but he has many holes in his game and isnt true pg because of his lack of ballhandling. (dont equate lack of turnovers to ballhandling, he had to give up the ball allot when pressured because he just is not a good dribbler)

Have to give @godfather and @gourimoko credit...I didn't think Durant could be that big of a pussy to pull this off, and it turns out he was. I was wrong. You guys called it all along.

Yeah... it is what it is... Saw him enough years to kind of have a feel for it, and I think that's why some the Thunder fans saw the same thing...

Most of these "superstar" basketball players aren't made from the same stuff as us. They're not forged by the same realities that come with NOT being 6'10 and handed millions of dollars but instead fighting, scrapping, kicking and clawing your way in one of the roughest cities in America to get where you are.

Durant's not a man... Not in the same sense that we might think of what that term means.

They will fill their bench with ring-chasing veterans. Richard Jefferson signed for the vet minimum to do this in Cleveland; Mo Williams took way less to come here on the Mini MLE.

Jermaine O'Neal has already expressed interest in coming out of retirement to join the Warriors. I don't think the Warriors are going to have any problem assembling a strong bench. They already have Iggy and Livingston.

Jermaine O'Neal. You mean a guy in his late 30's who hasn't played in 2 years? He's not making any bench stronger at this point

What do people think about getting Boris Diaw from the Spurs...he doesn't quite fit at backup C but he can do a lot of stuff to fill in as a player and we could use some more depth/talent

I'd definitely rather have all the assets to trade/keep that the Thunder have than the boatload of nothing that the Cavs had after LBJ left. If the Thunder want to completely blow up and tank/rebuild there's no reason they can't.

Obviously it worked out really well for us in the end but that's hindsight.

I think we both hate being right about this. But we kinda saw the writing on the wall.

I saw it after that OKC series, when he literally looked scared out there.

I just don't think he can be the guy to win a title. He needs a stacked deck.

I got a feeling Westbrook knows this too, and its one of the reasons he wants out and didn't even bother recruiting Durant back.

Why would he? He's gone too. :chuckle:

It's why he's a 20-25 minute a night guy, and getting paid like one.

You planning on getting someone with the TPE with no holes in their game?

He's also excellent at running the pick and roll, the most used set in the NBA. And I must say, the rest of our guards? Not so good at it.
