Pat Riley Karma Safari / DWade to sign with Chicago

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Absolutely agree, whether now, in August or in season. Cavs have some moves to make.

It may just have to be moves though centered in roster spots 8-15.

Yes we should explore ALL option but with each guy we trade from the 3-7 slots, we have to balance what we lose vs what we gain and evaluate if their is actually a net gain from our starting point

I also think the last thing we need to do is make a panic move after what GS did.

Sadly, we just don't have many options right now.

I mean, I agree in spirit, but it takes two to tango. Who's not to say they haven't explored a Love for Boogie or Butler trade.

Bulls and Sacs probably would've leaked it... We have no evidence to suggest we explored these trades...

All we know is that the Lakers and Celtics are interested, and Cavs look to be standing pat.

Or made other calls to other teams and free agents. Making a panic move like trading Love for a bunch of role players on the Celtics

Wait....

Who is arguing for this..?

Please name them...

I'll respond to the rest but I need to understand where this is coming from.. who is arguing we should trade Love to the Celtics for scraps?

This seems like the strawman du jour.

Trade smoke often does get leaked by one source or another, but not always.

I don't recall specific intel into the Knicks/OKC/Cavs trade until day of the trade, if at all

There was Zero about the Harden OKC/Houston trade until it happened.

Sometimes teams have reasons for keeping things quiet, whether they end up happening or not.

It's just anecdotal, but relevant to the conversation.

Unfortunately, far too many people here have. I would have to go looking for names to @ but if you check the Kevin Love trade thread I know there's been multiple posters here who have been advocating a Love for Bradley/Smart, Crowder type of deal. A guy in this thread last night said we should trade Love for Smart, Crowder, and fucking Olynyk.

Who could we get back from the Lakers that would make trading Love worthwhile, while at the same time helping us match what GS did by acquiring Durant?

Been a lurker through pretty much this entire thread. I have some thoughts on several points but will start with one: If we propose trading Love for Butler don't we have to presume that LeBron has agreed to play PF for 82 games plus playoffs? Is there any indication that he'd be willing to do that?

Without knowing who those people are, it's hard to argue against them.

I would say that I haven't seen anyone here, who is not a troll, argue that the Cavs should trade Love for table scraps...

I ask because people keep saying the Cavs shouldn't panic and not do these kinds of trades -- but no one is arguing they should panic or trade Love for scraps.

If we can't trade for quality then we don't do any deals, so if you and I agree on that, there should be no argument.

It's not about who we could get back from the Lakers for us, it's who could we get back for Sacramento or Chicago if they're willing.

To answer your question, the trades the Cavs should look at are Butler and Cousins.. If that's not possible then you roll with what you have.

If anyone really thinks that Durant wouldn't have been a Warrior if they won it all last year you're crazy.

Hell, he probably would have become a Warrior even faster than he did.

Dudes a coward. Plain and simple.

Not necessarily.. A trade for Butler likely would include Taj Gibson. He'd play the 4 during the regular season and the first rounds of the playoffs.

Is there any indication that he'd be willing to do that?

He won 3 rings doing it...

This I agree with. Durant was a Warrior regardless.
