I graduated in 1993. You can imagine how much it's changed since then.
The other thing that makes it ridiculous is that... it's just fucking prom. In the great scheme of things it's an almost totally insignificant event. Hell, I can't even remember the name of the girl I took to my senior prom.

Prom-posals & bachelorette/bachelor party extended trips need to go the fuck away.
Just a few years ago, it was acceptable to ask a girl to prom. Now these bitches want an experience.
Bachelor parties used to be one night with a nice dinner, getting smashed, and going to a strip club. Now people expect multi-day trips.

What the he'll is this homecoming? Who's home? I went to a school disco once it involved dancing to smooth criminal and running really fast then sliding on the floor on your knees.
Proms are now in the uk and it drives me crazy. Even at the end of primary school. Flicking 12 year old in £100 dresses and a limo! WTF /rant.
