2016 College Football Season/Playoff Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah, that's my top 4 as well.

Then you must be a genius! I haven't watched many games this year. Life has been getting in the way...

I don't see how we go from 2 to 5 if we beat Michigan. It could all shake out a bunch of different ways obviously, but if we take them down, and PSU wins, then it just makes our loss look even better, and if they lose, then we are above Wisconsin for sure, right?

Not sure what Michigan has done to warrant posters believing they will beat OSU. Yes their defense is slightly better statistically but our offense is much better than theirs.

People are quick to say that UM is set up perfectly to beat us as they are stout against the run. I guess them winning is as simple as that. You can certainly bet on Urban playing right into UM's hands, running QB options up the middle endlessly. Forget about using the sidelines with our elite speed. If we learned anything about Urban, it's that he never saves plays and packages throughout the season for big games. He will come in as vanilla as they come, making Jim Tressel look like the second coming of Chip Kelly.

We should all hold our collective ankles for the UM ramming we are about to receive ON A MOTHA FUCKIN' SATURDAY AT THE SHOE.

11-1 since 2004.

Iowa ran all over Michigan. I believe MSU had some success on the ground too against them. So, why can't Ohio State? And if we start running all over them (like last year), it's game over.
UCF ran for over 300 yards against them as well.

Colorado had 28 points in the first 31 minutes of the game before their QB got hurt.

I'm still not convinced, at all, that Michigan can defend any sort of a dynamic/spread offense.

There's a very solid chance we run all over them again. And then they may get matched up with Louisville in a NY6 bowl...Lamar would feast on them.

We definitely want PSU to lose again at all costs.

If they and Washington win out, I'm not confident at all the committee would put us in. Given they put the 4 most deserving teams in, I'm not sure we'd deserve it.

We could live in a world where Auburn beats Bama and we move to #1 in the next ranking. Don't participate in a conference championship game, and drop to #5.

Divisions are ruining this system. I can't express this enough at this point. It is seriously holding back this sport.

You'd think they'd have beaten more than one top 10 team in the last 8 years.

I've never understood crowning a team, or player, before seeing real results.

For years, YEARS, every game Ohio State won was deemed irrelevant by the public until we beat Oregon in the Rose Bowl.

But some people are just seriously desperate for Michigan to be elite again.

Let's be fair, OSU's offense was crap for a while. That played into it a little, at least.

Of course. Everyone hated Tresselball too, myself included :chuckle:

(For the record, love Tressel. Just couldn't stand his play calling/game management even though it lead to wins more often than not).

I just hope we end up 2 or 3 in the final rankings. Bama vs OSU National Championship is the game we deserve. The game we need.

Broken collarbone for Wilton Speight. John O'Korn, a Houston transfer, will be Michigan's QB from here on out.

Ran all over them? Iowa ran 50 times for I think 160 yards.

I think the Iowa game was a combination of Iowa playing about as well as it could on defense and Michigan doing everything they could to blow the game.

They turned it over, dropped countless passes that would have put Iowa away and then had a really bad penalty go against them late.

Every now and then, a team loses a game they shouldn't. I'm not sure it is anything more than that.

Welp. They had a nice season.

The backup threw for 3,000+ yards as a freshman at Houston.

It is going to set them back but he gets a dry run against Indiana and then we'll see what he can do.

It's rare to have a guy that talented as a backup that also has experience (15+ starts).

Certainly doesn't hurt OSU but he seems like a guy who isn't completely helpless as the next guy up.
