Trump's Presidency

I'm going to the Women's March On Washington tomorrow. Interesting because a lot of people I know who are going are doing so to protest Trump, which fits in-line with what caused these marches to start. At first I was concerned about this, because as low as my faith is in Trump, he is my President and I'm willing to give him a shot.

For me, I've decided to go as a disability rights (the issue that effects me the most), women's rights, Muslim Rights, African American rights, and etc. advocate. Because regardless of Trump, these are real issues, and I feel like those of us who can show support should. I'm pretty excited, haha.

Some things never change.

I already miss Dubya...

.. sigh ..

Don't know if you guys saw this but Shia LaBeouf made an online stream in Astoria where people could come and chant "he will not divide us" and, in Jaden Smith's case, do squats. Austin Walker from waypoint at Vice came down there to say a few words instead.

I do think what Walker said rings true. Shutting down any type of dialogue in the name of democracy is inherently hipocritical and doesn't further democracy, rather it disenfranchises the other side and widens the gulf between the groups. One could argue that this is partly to blame for Trumps presidency to begin with.

Ultimately I think it's a good message to send to people these days, to remember not to demonize each other and instead acknowledge the fact that we are different and we have to be able to work around that instead of just shutting off the other side, because that side still exists and matters.

agree, it's a core principle for me.

Realistically, these guys have power and money to win and talking heads have careers to build, so we're going to see a lot of it

Apparently he's a broken man now who spends his time painting portraits of wounded soldiers......I'd take that over a term of Trump *shrugs*. Keep Cheney away and it might work out.

Jaden Smith's point also rings true:

"Don't let protesting get in the way of leg day. Never skip leg day."
