Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Just wish this dude could actually develop a jumper. It would make him a significantly better player than he already is.

He's capable of it...he was on his way to developing a mid-range jumper before LBJ came back. It never became much of a need once we filled our lineup out though, post LBJ return.

When you have an elite offensive rebounder, it's not that bad. If a body isn't on TT, then he's getting that offensive rebound.

Kyrie has been getting him the ball more. i just think he has really grown as a finisher and his hook shot is pretty money. Last night he had a guard on him and Lebron would rather throw up a contested long 2 instead of trusting him against a small guy like that.

I am with it. It is ok and he is in offensive rebounding position, but it would be nice if Love got a little space in the post.

Lebron with Korver shot = ???

Steph Curry.

He has been incredibly efficient on the PnR as of late and his chemistry with Kyrie is at an all-time high. I salute you, Tristan, you fine Canadian workhorse.

Funny thing is Fine Canadian Workhorse is Khloe's nickname for Tristan.

Thompson is just a beast. His ability to switch onto guards and play respectable defense on them is simply remarkable. He did it time and again yesterday. Plus he has improved as a rim protector.

On offense, he can finish around the rim and he has good hands, consistently catching tough bounce passes and lobs. Plus he sets the meanest screens on your team. And the thing with Thompson is you have to guard him at all times because of his ridiculous offensive rebounding.

He's probably my favorite non-star player in the league. I wish he was a Knick.

Yeah, he didn't really allow penetration by your guards whenver he was switched onto them.
It's really impressive, especially when you consider the fact that he gained some weight since entering the league.
Too bad he didn't develop an offensive game other than putbacks, oops and two handed dunks. TT with a semi polished offensive game would be really really intriguing to watch.
I wonder why he couldn't develop any type of offensive game and how much is the coaches fault.

I think TT's offensive game is a little more developed than you give him credit for. He shoots that little push/hook/flip shot from like 4-7 feet out really well, has a nice little touch on it, and it's basically his one reliable go-to move in the post that he can finish with regularity. His touch around the basket really isn't bad at all for a guy who's a 60% FT shooter(and no jumper)

I know what yo're saying overall though. TT actually has a nice little face-up game too, but he can really only finish with that shot I described above. He's not awful handling the ball within the 12-15 ft area going downhill either. It does seem like he could have added a lot more offensively.

But the type of defender/rebounder he has become has a greater impact than any offensive game he could have developed, so I'm glad that's where his focus shifted after Bron returned.

I think one thing to note in Tristan's development is his finishing with either hand at the rim. He isn't really getting blocked at the rim at all anymore, and he has the swagger that makes defenses concede dunks now. And if he isn't going up after an OREB, he's dribbling it out or passing it out to reset.

Dude's a beast now. The rim protection last night was stellar.

On the latest Road Trippin Korver was saying he was helping TT with Free Throws...
