I'm fine with no CW.

I just don't want to be stuck with only a block C.

I've heard many people say that they find these logos offensive too because there is still native imagery. And I shit you not, I've even heard some people say the crooked C logo you mentioned is racist too, because it is supposed to look like a native carved it into a tree or something, which is a stereotype.

Unfortunately, I think getting rid of Wahoo isn't going to be the end of all this. The name will still be protested, and eventually that will change too.

I personally like the block "C" logo a lot. I understand that some don't, but I like very traditional uniforms, with basic fonts.

I don't buy anything with Wahoo on it anymore. It's been a few years since I have, and I own a lot of Indians gear. The only exception is the uniforms that have Wahoo on the sleeve, but there's really no alternative. I have a Masterson jersey with the AS patch, and a Miller jersey with a WS patch. Outside of those two, I don't own anything else with Wahoo on it.

Whaaattt? At what point does the net for "that's racist, has to go" end? This isn't about Chief Wahoo, or the name Indians for that matter. I understand both of those, personally. I don't think there's any basis for this "carved C" thing, but since someone said that (if they did) does that also need to go? At what point do some of these claims fall flat? Like, if it makes a person upset in any context, is it "too insensitive"?

No trust me, I agree. I took a Native Studies class in college so this debate naturally came up. A handful in the class found the 70's wordmark and logo offensive. These same people also found the Kansas City Chiefs use of an arrowhead in their logo to be a stereotype and offensive. Some people just go to the extreme I guess.

I would imagine most people that just oppose Wahoo would be perfectly content with any of those C logos, feather or no feather.

Don't the Braves use a tomahawk?

They got rid of Chief Noc-A-Homa and I really don't hear anything over their tomahawk.

Yeah they do. And I've never heard a bad thing about their current logo. Or FSUs. Or Kansas City's. Even the Chicago Blackhawks haven't had blowback for their current logo, because they teamed with some tribe leaders to make their new logo, which is still what I think the Indians should do.

My cousin with a Native American heritage & PhD in Native American studies already said today that the Wahoo going isn't enough.

They do, and some people do take offense to that too. It isn't nearly as much as Wahoo or the Redskins name, but they are out there.

I personally have never killed a Native American in my life.
