Not even 12 hours removed from one of his best playoff games and we are already talking about how Love will be rendered ineffective against GS...what a shock.

Calm down cupcake. We're talking about ways to maximize his effectiveness against them

I didn't say ineffective . I just said we will need to find him more inside the three point line touches that don't involve trying to back Draymond down. Love will have open shots all series vs them and I think he has the confidence to knock them down at a high rate now. That will be huge for us.They want him shooting, not Kyrie or LeBron, and he needs to and will make them pay for that. That's what a big 3 is all about.

Wasn't referring to anyone really. I just get frustrated with the doom & gloom talk about Love facing GS. I guess it was earned last year but people just seem quick to forget that Love was not 100% last Finals. Concussions can screw your head up for weeks. That's the worst type of injury for such a cerebral player like Love. He has never been able to rely on his athleticism. His moves tends to always seem a bit pre-calculated, especially in the post. As we learned last year, one split second of hesitation in the post against GS leads to the quick double-team, which resulted in some shitty plays.

I completely agree with your stance on KD guarding him in the post. Love should be capable of winning some of those potential paint battles. I have little doubt Love is stronger than KD at least.

Fair play. Apologies then

Love stood out as a superstar last night because the refs respected him and gave him calls. If he doesn't get calls then it's a heavily contested miss non call.

I've been wanting this aggressive Love his whole Cavs career, I also wanted the refs to respect the man, most of the time they let shit go down there, especially with Draymond vs him.

Love could in fact be our best weapon like last night described, he just has to play great then he's the mismatch.

There is a conspicuous, cowardly absence of a few notable posters in this thread. Just sayin.

Don't lure them in, they'll just say this doesn't matter because it was against the Pacers and not the Warriors, but you better believe if he slips up against the Pacers it'll matter.

Yep, thats typical of an the anti-Lovers. Forget the fact that Indy's front court is pretty formidable defensively.

Honestly, Myles Turner has made Al Horford look like Charles Oakley so far this series... and they had a wing who was playing backup PG on Love last night in the third quarter.

I'm a big Love fan and he played great last night, but let's keep things honest. It's not like he was abusing Draymond or LaMarcus Aldridge in the post.

Post players get less ref respect against physical defense unfortunately. Regardless Love is really great at drawing fouls. Underrated because he knows how to rip through in post position. He's notably better when he attacks soon after catching the ball. Taking two to three dribbles is too much time to get doubled. Let's find a way to get him deeper post position. I wondered what got into the team yesterday. He was aggressive and we were determined to feed him. But sigh this team, we always go away from what works. Next game will come and we'll see nothing like this

Love has the size to bully Draymond Green and KD in the post. This is definitely something the Cavs need to stick with throughout the playoffs.

The Fat KLove would have... he doesn't have the same girth and weight to throw people around nowadays... he can bully SFs but not similar sized opponents and double teams... what he did right last night was to get nice position downlow so when he gets the pass, there was not enough time for the double team to come... otherwise I noticed this season that when gets double teamed he usually gets stripped or make a bad pass...

The Fat KLove would have been great performance wise but bad for the longevity of his career, his knees and backs would just give up...

I....I love Love as much as anyone on here and I have a lot of confidence in him, but I don't see that happening. Durant is too long and Draymond is much stronger than Love.

Durant is long but Love has bullied him in the past in the post. He couldn't play one on one in the post with him when he was on the thunder. Doubt that changes.

One the most fun 5-10 minutes of basketball. I pull for him so hard and to see him dominate a game is so fun.

Yep.

But Kev and the rest of the team has to work on their passing out of double teams and hard hedging and trapping. Warriors do that a lot and end up generating TOs.

By the way, how many times do the Boston role players have to fail in the playoffs before people realize it's a bad idea to trade Love for them?

Every time I see that trade brought up I really want to vomit. Teams with the Wades and the plans and I been there done that know when it is Play Off time it is different level. We proved that to GS last year as the year before the carpet was laid out for them so they had no real push. Same with Boston they have no real driving force and a lot of players who are known to choke.
