Okay this is a bit early to make this season but I want to eventually use this to discuss trades the Indians could make, but other teams as well as the season goes along.

One thing I am seeing is the Blue Jays are struggling and it is possible Donaldson could be on the move this season. He is Due 17 mil this season and is arbitration next season and a free agent in 19. Would you be willing to trade for him and what would you be willing to if you could? How much of the Contract would Toronto eat this season?

I mean sincerely getting Donaldson (if he's healthy of course since he's on the DL right now) to play 3B, Ramirez in RF, would make this lineup one comparable to the 90s in a lot of ways and having him and EE 4/5, would make us so scary.

We don't have the budget. Not happening.

Zero percent chance the Blue Jays would consider eating his salary.

Less chance the Indians deal for him with silly talent on the infield.

Yeah, it's not like we have holes there. Really, we have an extremely good thing going in terms of payroll/talent right now, and our minor leagues are pretty stocked as well. Trading young guys for more high-priced talent seems too clever by half.

One of the reasons why I am curious about this idea, or a trade with the Blue Jays in General is the fact Shapiro pretty much drafted/signed almost everyone in my farm system. So he knows who he is getting with a trade with us. Anyone else from the team we could target if they decide to sell some guys?

We have probably 30 people who would be on 25 mans across the league.

We need more? It's 15 games in. Chill. We'll sit pat unless something blows us away or if there's a major injury, and even then, it's a stretch.

I am not worried about the team, I am looking at ways to make us better since this is the year we really need to win it. If we have a chance to add more talent we have to look at it.

We'd never know what we need until the time comes, I'd never thought Coco and Guyer would be so productive. I expect moves like that if any moves at all.

I don't sacrifice what Donaldson would take for marginal upgrades.

Can Donaldson stay healthy? Can you imagine the price tag on him if they're moving him?

All that aside, I doubt the Jays turn into sellers this year--they'll get hot and think they can compete.

Even if they turn into sellers, I don't think the Indians are the best fit.

Now the trades that really intrigued me coming into the year were Santana plus prospects for Goldie/Freeman.

I assumed Santana was gone after this year--and moving him (plus the first round compensatory pick he'd get the Braves/DBacks in Free Agency) for a big-time 1B made a lot of sense. Maybe start with Carlos, Yandy, plus more for one of them?

If we can re-sign Carlos, holy shit that would be amazing. But, if we can't get anything done, I'd like to turn him into one of those two guys if possible.

Step One: Tribe gets Josh Donaldson

Step Two: Blue Jays get Edwin Encarnacion

Step Three: Profit

Freeman or Goldie aren't going anywhere unless we end up adding in Zimmer, so I cannot make the move.

I rather the Indians put that money into Santana going forward...
