It's not like it's the first time she's said something inflammatory. Just this past summer she called police officers slave patrols. Everything is about racism with her. It's nauseating. She's made the 6:00 sportscenter unwatchable.

The Left has created this culture where people get fired for expressing their views. I've heard countless times that freedom of speech isn't freedom from consequences. She should be held to the same standard.

The Left has said this?

Not the right?

Yeah you're right.

I still can't believe she didn't win a Pulitzer when she told fans to throw batteries at Brett Favre.

That's what we have to muster up as a controversy?

A joke about throwing batteries at a player.

Oof, had to dig deep for this. Well done.

If that's your bar for above average journalism... I see why you love CNN so much.

Haven't they fired right leaning sports analysts from the network for inflammatory tweets? I don't think its fair for a company to hold different standards for different types of people.
They sure have. I would like to live in a society where people are allowed to express themselves (within reason) without worrying about offending someone and getting fired. As long as we don't though I want the same standards applied to everyone.

That's appearing on what amounts to a sketch comedy.

I meant her long career as a beat writer and journalist. I don't really care about her entertainment career.

But by all means, please continue google searching fake controversies to try and find some moral highground.

How do you define "within reason"? Sounds like that slope be could slippery @David.

Question: Guy at work says "Ugh, gay people are disgusting and sub-human. Really really hate dem gays!". He says this within ear shot of a homosexual employee, who of course is offended. The employee feels uncomfortable being near this person at work now, informs HR of the situation. Since this is not the first time this person has brazenly offended another employee, that person is terminated.

Do you have a problem with this chain of events? Or, should the offended employee go kick rocks?

Lol.

But people cant judge Trump on his long history of getting shit done instead of his entertainment persona and the MSMs fake controversies?

King of moving goal posts you are.

Id imagine threats of violence wouldn't be protected under this. And perhaps that was what he meant. That's a little bit easier to define than some really grey area comments.

I know liberals love degrading it but it starts and ends with common sense.

I can see firing Hill if she was calling her coworkers white supremacists or whatever...but saying mean/controversial things about people outside of the company isn't really firing someone over. Not a great thing to do, though; the response from ESPN was reasonable and justified.

Its a tough call for me.

Its easy to say "don't fire people just bc they say dumb shit" but I'd they hurt your business or you disagree with them vehemently you can't be stuck with them

In general people need to get over shit though. The world doesn't end over words.

What if a white news anchor at ESPN called Obama a black supremacist?

But didn't they fire analysts with conservative views for doing this very thing?

Schilling didn't just say offensive things.

He looked extremely stupid while doing so.
