Kinda disappointing. I love the God debate and was excited to talk about science and people’s individual thoughts and interpretations. But it became clear after Skyscraper was schooled on science... and then theology... and then history... before he started spouting conspiracy theories... that this thread wasn’t going to live up to its potential.

This is a generalization, but Christians are a tough crowd to have an actual debate with because so many of them aren’t there for the discussion, they are motivated by spreading the word.

His name isn't even Jesus.

It's Yeshua ben Yosef. Jesus is a Latinized spelling of a Greek spelling of a Hebrew name rendered into Medieval English. Jesus may have spoken Aramaic as his native tongue rather than Hebrew.
 
These discussions are entertaining for awhile, but then become frustrating... When the answer is always a quote from the Bible, actual discussion is difficult.

I feel the God that Christians believe in is really being stupid when he relies on text and languages that have died off as well as anecdotal testimony to convey his message. That is not a pathway to truth. So, either the God doesn’t exist or doesn’t care enough about the people who understand the nature of evidence to present it sufficiently.

And quote me where I said Catholicism only has 9 commandments. If you cant find where I precisely said they have NINE.. 9.. 1,2,3, 4.. NINE commandments, if you find where i said they only have NINE commandments, I will ask to be banned.

If you look at Catholicisms 10 commandments, you will see they removed the 2nd commandment so that they can make idols unto their selves. They made the 3rd commandment the 2nd... if you look at their list, it is not accurate to the Holy Bible. Catholicism has their own version of the Bible.

I always love when people quote the bible to prove the bible, like there is no flaw in that logic.

I am going to write a book called the law of dating. Rule 1 is going to be all hot chicks must fuck me. When i ask a hot chick to fuck me and she says no, i will just point to rule 1 to prove she must fuck me.

If it works for bible thumpers, should work for me right?

And not really surprising since Paul says to "Imitate me as I imitate Christ."
Also not surprising that most of us fall woefully short.

The Bible is only a tiny fraction of the Word that existed from the Galilean's death to the Council of Nicea.

There are many interesting gospels out there. Many different views of Christianity existed, and flourished, until dissenting views were obliterated.

What did I do ban-worthy? Was it something I said? Was I harrassing somebody? Maybe it's my faith and walk with the Lord which I express to you and you which you have zero tolerance for? Maybe if I came here agreeing with everything you said, saying things about basketball which you agreed with, then you may like me and receive me as your own... but such is not the case. Like the Lord said,

"If the world hate you, you know that it hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love his own: but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you." (John 15:18-19)

Amen.

The Lord knew this 2,000 years ago. Praise the LORD for His infallible Word. Amen.

Insulting his intelligence, and calling another human arrogant is, not very righteous per se.
