Get Excited Somewhere Else: John Dorsey

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He was beloved, he was a local hero that did everything he could (graduate early, supplemental draft) to get himself to come to the Browns.

He's from Youngstown. He's as local of a hero as Kizer and Ben Rothlisburger.

He isnt over rated, just younger people dont understand the love because he was a good qb, but wasnt a great qb.

Except he wasn't a good QB.

.
The love was more about who he was, not really how he performed.

Uh??? Exactly?? :dunno:

Youngstown is in NW Ohio? That's news.

Just saying the only reason people are calling him a local hero is because he liked The Browns and it's not like Youngstown is around the corner or down the road like Akron.

I mean it's about an hour away? I don't see anything wrong with it. It's not like there's a Youngstown NFL team.

@BMAN you that triggered, man? :chuckle:

Here, I got it for you:

I am one, but I hate how millenials live life thinking nothing worthwhile existed before their/our birth. Bernie isn't a track athlete, but he was a damn good QB. Our memory of it shouldn't inflate or deflate that.

Los let's take this to the small baller thread

I hate how people think millennials can only think inside of a millennial bubble. Bernie Kosar was about as good of a QB as Jeff Garcia. Can't wait to tell my grandkids how the little guy stuck around in the NFL and dated a hot chick. Legend.

Because of statistics? Is that it? Stats have inflated over the years. Thus, comparing stats from one guy to another is simply apples to oranges.

How old are you?

Because he grew up a Browns fan, and Youngstown is 45 to an hour from Cleveland and half the town are huge Browns fans, other half Pittsburg.

He was a good QB, times have changed on the QB position and the stats, but we were perennial playoff contenders with Kosar under center. Later in his career he was benched for his friend he brought to the team Vinny Testaverde. Vinny was the better qb, but Browns fans refused to accept that at the time as their beloved Bernie didnt age well. This is what really made Browns fans hate Belichick. I was one of them. In hindsight, Belichick was correct, and starting Vinny helped the team.

In the end stop the crusade, you are coming off as ignorant, disrespectful and just a plain asshole. Not sure if this is your intention, but back then we didnt have a Lebron, local hero best in the game. All we had was Bernie. No other local hero stayed home. Remember, Bernie won a national championship in Miami the year before becoming a Brown. We all loved him in college. Followed his career, then he forced his way to Cleveland and the legend was born.

Respect the history, he did very good for he Browns, but he didnt age well, the alcohol in hindsight probably had allot to do with it, but he was a local hero who embraced being Cleveland. Match made in heaven.

You are actually showing why people of my generation hate millennials just with that above statement.

I 100% know you dont understand what I mean, but I also 100% know all of those on this board of my generation know what I mean.

And for the record, i dont hate all millennials, but you are coming off as a very arrogant, short sighted and ignorant millennial at the moment. You are better than this, I have seen many good posts from you. Just realize you dont understand why Bernie was so beloved, but he was a local hero that stayed home. That is all you have to know. And at the time, he was a top 10 QB of the late 80's.

Ah. So, you're having fun at the expense of those who hope the team turns the corner? Now I can make sense out of you.
