So it would be surprising to see Lillard at an MVP level? If I'm not mistaken, he sitting at 5 right now in the vegas odds. Let's not forget that Lillard has 1 less season in the league but 2 all-nba teams made, and Kyrie one all-nba team made. That will increase by 1 for both this season most likely.
As far as the game 7 scenario. Are you stating that based solely on what you witnessed in the 15-16 Finals? Because all numbers and metrics lean towards Lillard in pressure situations. So who is to say he wouldn't perform as well, if not better than Kyrie did? Your statement is purely hyperbole, and is based on the unknown.
This season alone in clutch time, 4th quarter or OT <5min, (No LeBron help for either), Kyrie is shooting: .475%, .265% from three, 82% from the line. Lillard is shooting: .479%, .385% from three, 92% from the line. As for playoff stats as a whole, Lillard leads Kyrie in points, boards, and assists.
Clearly, someone with a brain wouldn't even consider Lillard...
Check Lillards percentages and impact too in the playoffs. Also, check his On/off in the playoffs..It's not pretty. Bringing up his total points and assists while being the focal point of the offense without bringing his efficiency is not cool.
Besides, no one was talking about making Cedi the breaking point in a Lillard trade.(Zizic to me is super valuable to this franchise going forward considering our big man situation and what he has shown and I know can do).
There is no reason for Portland to trade Lillard and for the 8th pick in the draft. Our range is probably Kemba and the likes and I'm not going to add Cedi nor Zizic for a player of that magnitude.
