2018 NBA Playoffs

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
There's no way in hell that Portland is giving up Damian Lillard for our crappy lottery pick. They wouldn't trade him for the pick + KLove + Cedi. Teams don't give up superstars in their prime unless the superstar asks out, and even then they should fight like hell to keep them (I'm looking at you, Cleveland front office).

You don’t know what will happen with Lillard if they get swept or lose in the first round by a not so good pelicans team.. I know this.. Lillard wants to win and beat curry and that warriors team.. he may ask out if they have a first round exit.. I’m not counting on it.. but you never know. This warriors team with KD on it has changed the league.. it’s not crazy anymore to see any star player ask out to try and team up with other stars to try and beat this warriors team. Stars want to win..

There has been nothing that has made my heart happier than watching Rajon Rondo pick apart the Portland TrailBlazers and control the tempo and put the entire team in positions to excel against Portland.

I am salivating at the thought of a healthy Rondo doing the same thing against Quinn Cook and Shaun Livingston. And or Klay being moved over to Rondo and then Jrue Holiday who is literally the best two way guard in the playoffs right now, continuing his play against Cook and Livingston.

Rondo is must watch basketball for a purist right now.

Rondo is also bringing out the best in Holiday. Thats the absolute truth. Rondo allows Jrue to be himself, above and beyond himself.

One of the reasons why I loved Jason Kidd so much..(and starting to drool over Ben Simmons)

There’s nothing better than watching either a skilled true point guard carving a defense or watching a skilled low post big man that can pass, has great post skills and foot work etc.... i.e. essentially the complete opposite of what’s in today’s game and what’s coming into the league.

Agreed tho on Rondo. The basketball IQ is off the charts.. Somehow we’ve all gotten pounded into our brains that if a player can’t shoot that they’re worthless (unless that person is Jeff Green in which case it holds true #fuckhim)

But yes this old school, Celtics Rondo has been a pleasure to watch...

he was amazing against the Celtics last year before he got injured too. some people kind of wanted us to get him but were shouted down by the crowd

Yeah, you're probably right.

So, you think CJ & Beal are better off playing with Lillard & Wall than playing with LeBron? Huh?

And I think Lillard would play better defense in the playoffs when it counts.

I think we expect a lot of guys who are used to getting the ball more, used to creating for themselves a little, to come and play with LeBron and stand and wait for a pass and make open shots.

And shooting isn't like that. A lot of times you need a rhythm and just waiting in a spot isn't conducive to everyone.

As for Lillard, he's in the playoffs now, the higher seed, and getting his ass beaten by Rondo and Holiday on both ends. I mean think about our team, we take good defenders and make them bad. What would we do with a bad defender.

While you're disagreeing @czvo, give a team that is great in evaluating and drafting talent the 8th pick and watch how crappy their all-star turns out. There's been countless of great players drafted past the crappy 8th selection. It's the team's job to buckle in, clamp down, and find the stud, and of course get lucky. Donovan Mitchell was the lastest crappy lottery pick, am I doing this right?

Just because it isn't top 3 or top 5 doesn't mean jack shit. A stud, an all-star can be found, it is a possibility.

But go ahead, you folks can go on about how fucking crappy the Cavs future 8th pick is, hopefully we don't draft Luke Jackson, hopefully we evaluate a great one.

But these guys can get their own shot. Just like Kyrie could. They aren't reliant on LeBron to score. Just as Kyrie never was. LeBron just makes it easier for them with or without the ball.

First of all, calm down, it's not that serious.

Second, the main reason I gave you a disagree is for ripping Cavsfever's head off when his reasoning was legitimate. No team up and trades their superstar without said player asking out. At this point, there is no indication Lillard wants out.

Now, maybe they lose, and Lillard gets pissed. But as he said, you should fight like hell to keep him by upgrading around him by any means necessary.

I take great offense to someone ripping an 8th best odds lottery pick, especially ripping a lottery pick before a form is set. Anything can happen

I was here in 2010, I was enjoying the Baron Davis trade, I was all about that pick, as was everyone else, that 1.7% chance 7th or 8th best odds wasn't crappy then, oh my how people forget. That pick was praised before we knew the odds, it wasn't labeled crappy. But then again, that was in a time where real cavs fans conversed with great substance around here.

Why would anyone take "great offense" to this?

I take it you're not passionate as I am about Cavs basketball. But I understand, you wanted to throw the towel in back in the 2nd week of the season.

As we learned, it's idiotic to shit on a lottery pick with an outside chance to get in top 3.

I guess not, but I'll live.

We're getting off track here talking about the potential value of a lottery pick when there is some great basketball being played and discussed in this playoff thread.

Dame Lillard and CJ McCullum BOTH are taking turns trying to find ways to get Etwan Moore and Mirotic switched on to the them.

They want no part of the other 3 starters guarding them and that's been remarkable for me, for two dudes who looked capable of scoring on any team with free reigns in their offense... at home.

I've wanted both guys since Kyrie left but I'm giving them a big MEH while watching them get shut down by Rondo & Jrue with AD back there supporting them.
