HATE LIST
Josh Allen, QB, Wyoming - Don't get the hype at all. What's he do well? His best throws are on broken plays where he's rolling out to the right and lasers a pass to a WR that snuck behind the defense. Even for the best QBs at extending plays- Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers- these plays happen maybe 1-2 times a game. Not nearly often enough to build a case on.
I wasn't a huge fan of Derek Carr coming out of Fresno State, and IMO Carr was easily a better prospect than Allen. Maybe in a down QB class you take a small school guy with a big arm in the first round, but we've got the #1 pick and plenty of superior QB prospects. No thanks!
Kolton Miller, OT, UCLA - He always stood out when I watched UCLA games this fall, mostly because he's huge (legit 6'9'') and kinda sucks. I thought the Nate Solder comparisons were pretty rich, but that's before I saw people on reddit actually comparing him to Jonathan Ogden. He's an amazing athlete for the position (seriously, already in the top 99.2% percentile for NFL offensive lineman) but he's got no push in the run game and is inconsistent in pass protection. Some team is going to fall in love with his measurables and take him way too early.
Vita Vea, NT, Washington - We've convinced ourselves we can turn a big, run-stuffing DT from udub into an all-around force once before, but not again. He's a two down player that's not worth a 1st round pick in a pass happy league. He's not going to physically man-handle interior lineman like he did in college... where he wasn't productive. I don't see Haloti Ngata, I see another Phil Taylor. You could interest me in the 3rd or 4th, but Vea is probably going in the top-15.
Ogbonnia Okorokwo, OLB, Oklahoma - Small, tight-hipped edge rusher that's going to get swallowed whole by NFL offensive tackles. He's already turning 24 this year and has maxed out his athletic gifts, I don't see him ever becoming more than a backup. He's somewhat decisive as a prospect; in a weak edge rusher class he's projected to go anywhere from the 1st round to the 5th. Day 3 guy for me.
Tony Brown, CB, Alabama - No idea how this guy is projected to get drafted in the middle rounds. He's immature, already 23, and he sucked in college while being surrounded by elite players and being coached by Nick Saban. Day 3 is generous, Tony Brown shouldn't be drafted.
