Cleveland Browns Quarterback Position

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Gee Tom, what an insightful comment. I can’t believe that the day before the draft this is the first I’m hearing that the Browns May potentially trade down with a team that seeks to trade up for a QB

The fact that he calls that an interesting scenario as if he’s the first one to possibly imagine such a wild and crazy proposition

Interesting scenario:

Could the Browns get their QB at #1 then use their second first round pick to take a position player that can provide immediate help?

I think this tips towards the Browns staying at 4 is Chubb is there, moving down if Chubb goes 2 to the Giants.

That leaves a team with a choice of Barkley, and one of two of the top 4 QB’s. The Browns get a haul and likely land an elite DB in the process.

Very interesting scenario yes indeed

Don't forget about Stafford coming out of Georgia and going to the Lions as the number 1 pick. He had a 57% completion rate in college. He is no superstar, but can hold his own at times, and is said to have a strong arm. A lot of people forget to throw him in the mix.

Stafford doesnt really count, his career average was 57, but he improved accuracy every year to end over 60% at 61.4.

Allen didnt improve from year 1 to year 2.

Its Favre and probably another player i am forgetting, but its not Stafford who i am missing.

Bad comparison.

Stafford actually showed improvement year over year in college. He went from 52.7% as a freshman to 55.7% as a sophomore to a perfectly respectable above the baseline of 61.4% as a junior.

And even with those improvements, it still took Stafford seven years in the NFL to finally crack 65%.
