Cleveland Browns Quarterback Position

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I do like Mayfield and, ironically enough, this would be an incredibly analytical pick. That being said, I dont love him @ 1. I'd still be ok with it but disappointed they passed on Darnold/Rosen for him.

100% agree on this post. I don't HATE Mayfield. I think he has a legit shot at being good at the NFL level. I liked Darnold and Rosen more in that order but Mayfield wasn't too far behind.

Allen on the other hand is in tier 2 of QBs for me with Lamar Jackson. Mason Rudolph leads the tier 3 prospects.

Baker and OU can put up 48 on one of the best defenses in college football while Baker goes 23-35 66% for 287 and 2 td's 1 int and that's folding but Darnold can put up only 7 against OSU and go 26-45 58% with No td's and 1 int and no one bats an eye.

Nobody will remember or care about collegiate games head-to-head three years from now.

The sooner you understand that's not what makes a good NFL QB, the better.

People try this stuff every year, Manziel, Weeden, Vince Young...

It doesn't work like that.

I think people need to relax a bit... The pick is in and has been for weeks - it didn't suddenly change this morning.

Everything has been completely under wraps for months but we suddenly spring more leaks than the Iraqi Navy on Draft Day?

Not buying it.

I get the pissed off nature of people if we happen to take Allen/Mayfield at #1 (which I am with the vast majority here, they should not go #1) - but to say you are completely done with them if we DO draft them #1? Get the flying fuckity outta here.

You will still follow them, still watch the games (especially this year with Tyrod) and still root for them.

Hate the pick - but stop w/that.

Mayfield under legitimate pressure...is not good.

You can point to his numbers against the blitz, but a wide open offensive scheme allows him to pick those teams apart.

You don't have that luxury in the NFL.

Yes, he can create sometimes. Sometimes he throws easily interceptable passes.

Due respect, fuck off.

Rosen or Darnold were fine.

Horrible Bro.

You’re grasping at straws. Go back and watch the tape.

Why would this be an "analytics" pick?

Is that designation solely based on his PFF grade?

Please...

No he meets a lot of thresholds as far as HS and college production, size *except height* and accuracy.

Jim Coburn, for example, has had him as his #1 most likely QB to be an all pro guy for a while.

You guys are going to FUCKING LOVE Baker in 2 years and this thread will be incredible to reach back to.

Multiple all pros. We have a FQB.

Though there is the statman factor as a negative if the pick is Mayfield, the plus will be everyone who whines about the pick.

It's a tough call....

I knowing know, stats and analytics are for losers. (Insert Manziel stats against Alabama here)

Seeing how they’re shopping the 4 pick heavily you’d think they’d be able to pick up some tips....
Yeah, man. One thing we know is that in draft day trade negotiations, the two teams always reveal their draft plans to help their competitors. It's a genius move, really.
