You guys are going to FUCKING LOVE Baker in 2 years and this thread will be incredible to reach back to.
Multiple all pros. We have a FQB.
He's not the guy I would have picked, but I'm just a schmuck with a keyboard, and you could very well be right. What amazes me are the people who are so absolutely
certain they are correct when talking about an endeavor (the NFL draft) in which certainty for this kind of decision simply isn't possible.
None of us were in the interview rooms. None of us were there at the white board sessions. But from all accounts, Mayfield is basically a bigger, stronger, harder-working, better-armed, and more mature version of Manziel. And a guy like that
may be extraordinarily successful in the NFL. That will depend upon a lot of things that are
impossible for us to know for sure.
What I do think is interesting is that an old-school guy like Dorsey apparently was okay with him
despite the DUI and similar concerns. He must have just impressed the hell out of them. That's particularly true given that the shadow of Manziel kind of hangs over the franchise. They have to know that the narrative is going to be "here they go again." Yet, they picked him anyway. So again, it is somewhat comforting that they think enough of this guy's football ability to pick him
despite all the easy to list downsides.
