Hey brother at the end of the day I love the Indians and have been following them now for over 30 years. I don't care for Kipnis but if he can stay healthy and can help the Indians. I'm good with that. That's all I want is for the tribe to win. At the end of the day, I just don't think he's the one they can keep sending out everyday at 2B. Just my opinion, you have yours and it's all good. Go Tribe!!!
It seems like you're trying to dismiss everyone else's points and say that all sides are equal. They're not.
The value of a player is not what he's done historically--but rather what they will do in the future. Obviously historical trends are the best indicator of future outcomes, so we use those to build our best guess.
There's a reason people are using Kipnis's last 70 days as an indicator. His first two months were abysmal--they were an aberration and not something his career in baseball would say is likely to continue. Since he's left that abysmal period of time (maybe it was an injury? maybe it was mental? maybe it was bad luck?) he has returned to his .810+ OPS that he's been posting for the majority of his career. When you dismiss this as Kipnis "being hot," it's ignorant.
I just want you to be able to process the information we're discussing on this board, and hopefully we can improve your baseball opinions along the way. Endless posts that ignore evidence and attempt to misconstrue things are counterproductive.
