2018 ALDS | Cleveland Indians vs. Houston Astros | Starts Oct. 5th

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If there's a big fish available, Indians better make a big effort. In 2016 there was no powerhouses, that's why we made it.

Red Sox, Yankees, Astros are here to stay.

I remember a time i was worried about losing Allen, Miller, and Kipnis. Astros are a great team so I am not too mad but this Indians team played with no interest in being in the playoffs. Two blowouts in 3 games while scoring 4 runs total in 3 games is just embarrassing.

Maybe Kip can get a rally going here.

Cant compete with it. Lightning struck 2016. Was our shot.

Did we ever talk about how I started the “Shu-ey” chant out in right field when I was a kid once?

I feel like someone challenged me on this once and I have nobody to back me up but it’s true.

You said this in response to me starting my one more year RJ chant at the parade ceremony. I believe both of us.

Damn.

I mean, to me this is all on the players and coaching staff.

The FO did a decent job to replace Santana with Alonso. They brought in Donaldson. They fortified the bullpen with Hand and to a lesser extent Climber.

Could they have upped their odds slightly by going after a Machado or someone else? Sure. Should they have gone after Yelich harder at a steep price. In hindsight sure.

But the roster provided is not one that should have (under)performed the way it has down the stretch.

Multiple relievers have had downturns to their expected production.
JRam has had an epic fail/slump the past two months. The Bauer injury obviously hurt.

But in turns of blame/accountability for an underperforming reg season relative to the roster talent and getting swept in the playoffs, to me the brunt of it lays at the feet of several key players and Francono far more than of the FO or ownership.

Obviously seeing what we have seen this season and week, a huge onus tips back on the FO, especially in regards to the bullpen.
