2018 ALDS | Cleveland Indians vs. Houston Astros | Starts Oct. 5th

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Sorry, want to believe. But I dont. There are three mega teams with infinite resources we will need to contend with in the AL. Window is only really open a couple more years.

Just dont see how we get on their level.

Especially considering our key players are known playoff underperformers. Difficult to think this team can win a World Series. The “you just have to get in” mantra isn’t encouraging anymore with 100-win juggernauts lurking the AL depths.
I never thought Milwaukee could pull off a deal for Yelich, but they did. We need something like that if a very good player becomes available. Signing dudes like Yonder Alonso isn't going to cut with this state of the AL. Indians need some kind of gamechanger. As long as Lindor is here we should win the Central, but he's going to need help to win another pennant.

I wanted Yelich bad. Sucks.

@AZ_

Do you think the new launch angle approach to their swing by Lindor and Ramirez, tinkering with what had worked for them for years, made either of them more exploitable as teams advance scouting caught up to it? Like could that be part of the reason Jose has had such a hard time climbing out of his late season slump?

The number one priority by far is the bullpen.

Sure, we could use an outfielder. But we're probably going to lose Brantley, and the odds we get someone better is very low.

The every day players/talent is there. It's just amazing how inconsistent, and how they all go cold at the wrong time.

Even if they weren't so horrendous, you just can't win with this bullpen.

Re-sign Donaldson and when a big name player is available go for it.

Yep. Maybe not Houston but Bos and NY at least.
Yeah, you can bet whoever loses the Bos-NY series will go out and sign Harper, then the other will get pissy because they signed Harper and will sign someone like Harper. Kind of like this past winter, Yanks get Stanton, Boston then signs Martinez. They have been doing that shit for years.

can we get rid of Cimber...what a dud

I'm telling you we just need to take a different approach. Don't blow it up or rebuild but we need to rebrand on and off the field.

Yes, I agree. Wearing a hat and jersey with a different name on it will DEFINITELY make Kluber, Jose, and the rest of these chokes play a lot better.

But, but, but... Why trade for those type of guys when you can trade your top prospects for RELIEVERS!?!?

It's not just about the logo. It's making culture changes.

Any guesses on how our final out will go? I think it'll be a Yan Gomes grounder.

Kluber has had several good postseason games. He’s had several poor ones. Calling him a choker is a bit much. A team with Kluber and Ramirez on it is the better for it, regardless of their poor showing in this series.

Oh I hear you.

If a very good hitter is available I'm trading Bieber and the farm, and I love Bieber and think highly of him having a good career. But this '19-'22 window is far bigger than him. If he's the prize that lands us a bigger prize then I'm pulling the trigger.

Team just didn’t get hot when they needed them too.

Plenty of talent left for a 2019-2022 run. We know they can compete with anyone, just need to be more consistent.

Even if some are a little too emotional to admit it now
Nobody loves dancing on graves more than the RCF Indians “fans.”

I'm definitely interested in bringing back Donaldson. His market won't be that high, still relatively young.

Figure with an off-season and being completely healthy, he could return close to form.

He's still an offensive talent. Don't see us upgrading a bat like his in free agency.
