Monken sounds fantastic, but so is Freddie. And I'm betting one of the major attractions for both of those guys was working with someone from whom they can learn something. It's a pairing that gives both of them someone with whom to bounce off ideas, come up with some innovative concepts, etc.. It'll likely make both of them better coaches moving forward in their careers.

Monken probably won't be here all that long, but that's fine. A full year or maybe even two of these guys working together should be a huge benefit to the organization lasting long after he leaves.

Eventually Baker will be the defacto offensive coordinator anyways like Brees, Peyton or Brady. What he showed in year one of understanding offense and reading defenses was amazing.

I just want 4 more years of a strong offensive coordinator. I agree Monken wont last that long as he will get a head coach job before that, but I bet he is here 2 years, next OC 2 years, then it mattes less who our OC is as Baker will have learned from 3 top offensive minds and be ready to help more in game planning and other offensive coordinating duties.

I think we stack up the defense in draft and Free Agency. We seriously could make the jump to top 3 defense under Wilks. Some talking heads already said Wilks will get another look as head coach, and it could be very soon depending on the 2019 Browns performance.
I doubt Wilks gets another look in the next 3 years. There’s just no way.

This team is gonna win a goddamn Super Bowl. 5 years max.

I've moved around the country a lot for work over the last 5 years, and I became the token Cleveland fan to all of the people I met. So after the Cavs won the championship and the city had a very respectable, non-violent, non-destructive celebration in the streets I received a lot of texts from people surprised that we didn't burn the city to the ground.

I explained to them how different it would be if the Browns win the Super Bowl. And I truly, truly believe that. Look no further than the Muni Lot.

God help this city if the Browns ever win a Super Bowl.

You seriously think things would get violent if the Browns win a SB?

Hmm. I don't. I think the party will be outstanding and long lived, and of course there will be some idiots doing stupid things, but "violent"? Like in car burning, store smashing, looting, riot police intervention things? I really don't think so. Hope not.

I think it is more likely that the funeral home business explodes for a few days, as many people feel they can finally die in peace... or a whole bunch of people plain out have heart attacks during and right after the win.

More so a ton of idiots doing a lot of stupid things. I may just have a low opinion of NFL fans in general. I don't think we would have an outbreak of looting and large scale destruction like that trash can Philadelphia, for example. But if downtown Cleveland becomes a large scale Muni Lot, it'll be messy as hell.

That's a lot of unbelievably intoxicated people. And NFL football is a violent game that seems to attract a lot of violent people, as evidenced by the staggering fan violence statistics versus the other major sports. Maybe it's a different vibe when the game doesn't actually take place in the city, like the scenario of the Super Bowl. Without opposing fans present maybe those concerns dissipate.

A lot of credit should go to Mayor Jackson and the cops. They deliberately took a very light hand, including not intervening when that one police car got trashed. The City is going to miss Jackson when he's gone...and I say that as a lifelong Republican.
