the ignorance regarding this kid is understandable , but at least get your facts straight.
he was unranked by rivals & ranked #328 by 247 sports. this thread was created to make people like yourself aware of just how much of a sleeper he was...
he isn't anymore, unless you are blind.
those stats are ridiculously great as a 3rd or 4th option freshman who turned his program around immediately after being pulled from redshirt status because Self needed to use him this year instead of saving him to boost his program next season.
He could return to college, to ensure a high draft spot, personally I hope he gets a promise from Cavs and we get the steal of the draft in the 20's.
Picture this:
your Bill Self and you are at a Mokan Elite AAU game to see Jontay Porter and come away from the game talking about this kid that was clearly the best player on the floor named Ocahi Agbaji.
Self did a good job of keeping it under his hat for a short time but it wasn't long before the buzz started getting a little louder.
Nearly every hs coach in the entire city of Kansas City considered Agbaji the best player in his class, yet because he stood up against the corruption and favoritism of the AAU to coaches sons etc until that point, he stayed unknown nationally. Eventually his family realized he had to at least give the AAU a glimpse to get on somebodies radar outside of KC,
he went unranked and stayed completely under the radar until then.
After Self and Kansas realized Texas A&M gave him an offer, they immediately gave him one. 5 power conference schools gave him offers inside of 2 weeks.
keep on sleeping on him if you like.
I'm wide awake, and am confident I will be the one having the last laugh here.
